heres some pics from hondas websitewith 360* views of the sedan and coupe. the coupe doesn't look that much different than the concept.

At least they upped the HP to 190 in the 4cyl and 268 in the V6. Don't see the torque yet or the weights. I am not a fan of the styling though. It will have to grow on me.

The fuel mileage for the 4cly seems to be a good 5 mpg lower than the 7 gen.

i really like the coupe, but i have to say the sedan does not do it for me. i cannot believe the coupe and sedan are the same car!

i dont like either of them. not only because its got more power than mine, but it looks like a cross between the new eclipse and a saturn ion

i'll stick to my 5th gen

i actually kinda like it but ive grown used to the somewhat bubbly 7th gen accord. the new ones are somewhat sharper now. i like that body groove on the side of the sedan that kinda reminds me of the tl. its also cool that they brought back the engine difference between the ex model and the rest. i didnt like how i paid more for the ex and didnt really have that much of a performance advantage over the lower models with the exception of rear disc brakes

not bad...can see some similarities to the 7th gen in the over all lines, but they did a lot of squaring...

Yeah, looks like a Saturn Ion from the side, and an Altima from the front.

Am I looking at it wrong, but under specs for the sedan, does it say 4cyl only gets manual?

you looked at it wrong i think

but that sedan.........

i dont like either one , it looks like they took an altima and two other cars and squeezed them together. i love the older generations, 93, 96, 04. what they are coming up with now just looks ridiculous, although i really didnt like the 04 when i first saw it but it grew on me. maybe the 2009 will be a liitle better

Don't like the coupe. Too much curv like the Solora. Sedan looks strange. It need some cleaning up to do but, interior looks great. Tail lights looks kinda like a Bimmer from the side. Not impressed with either. Basically I don't like it.

i think its going to take a little while for both of those body styles to grow on us, but i think it looks good. its a little too futuristic for my taste when i compare it to my 99. but, all of the engines have great power! an lx with 177 horsepower is ridiculous! 190 horses for the ex is pretty good, it would be better if that hit 200 in my opinion. 268 horses is great for the v6, i am sure it will beat the camry in a 0-60 run although i have heard that the camry v6 is 269. but, honda always has more aftermarket parts.

and, i have always noticed that hondas have 100x better acceleration than the camry.

anyways, i am going to stick with what people say in this forum about keeping your car until the wheels fall off or run it into the ground. i only got 154,000 miles catching up to 155k. just my $0.02.

It will be a Coupe that you will get mostly used too...we always get used to seeing new cars after awhile:

I think Im in the minority here. I like the looks of both.

I always liked the looks of my 7th Gen but I did think it was a bit too bubbly. The 8th Gen seems to have taken the best of the 7th Gen and squared it off a bit. Kinda see some styling cues from the Acura TL.

The only thing that makes me want to jump off a bridge for buying my 07 when I did is the new 190 hp engine. ARRGGH!! I could really use those extra 24, warranty covered horsepower.

No doubt they are beautiful vehicles, but they don't look that different from the 07 Accords. I expected a drastic change.

They ganked the sedan....the 6 speed manual is disabled for the sedan. Basically, Honda wants no more sedan sleepers for the Accord.

A true shame.

Actually, the 08 coupe is about 250 lbs heavier than the outgoing model. It does make 190 hp, but still has 160 lb/ft of torque. Given that it's making more hp but equal torque, it's about the same power to weight as the 07 LX coupe. I just added the hp and torque numbers together for both cars and figured out an average figure per pound.

I'm waiting till the stats come out on performance numbers but I'll be anything they'll be very close or the same as the 07s.

Saw a 08 sedan accord today. I have to say it doesn't really look too bad in person. It does however kinda look like bmw and RL mixed together. Too bad they don't offer v6 sedan anymore.

actually they do offer v6 sedan. it has vcm (cylinder deactivation for when it is appropriate). but, definitely go with the coupe for anyone that is interested. article on usatoday, and you can go on cars.usatoday.com to learn more. i was skeptical until yesterday. agree with everyone that the coupe should be the way to go.

My 08 accord coupe EXL V6 6 speed. Black/Black. HFP Skirt kit will be here tomorrow. 2 inch drop comming soon. Still waiting for aftermarket parts to come out. This car in generaldoesnt look good in pictures. Looks way better in person. Ive had people sell out the pictures and then see it in person and fall in love.Looks best in Black and Silver. Sedans arent as nice but still have potential. The biggest problem with these cars is the huge gap in the wheel well. Honda should have made them sit lower and killed that gap. You can probably fit 22's on this car. I have 19's at the moment. I have the stock 18's with tires for sale if anybody is interested. Less than 100 miles on wheels and tires. Would look real nice on older gen lowered accords. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee224/jblaust/100_0034.jpg

Any word of a comptech supercharger kit for this car? (or any other kit for that matter?)

Your right about the wheel gap!!! It's ridiculous, seems like the gap gets bigger every generation. Your coupe looks good with the black wheels and dark tint. How much for the factory wheels/tires????

The only reason for the low gas mileage ratings are the new EPA standards, i dont like the new standards because they make all new cars look horrible.

I'm tried of reading magazines, and hearing people complain about styling, blah blah blah, i cant remeber how many times i've heard "i think the new accord looks like a (insert car of choice here) mixed with...you get the point. When i see the new accord, i think "new accord" not "isuzu rodeo raping a chevy aveo with a kia sedona watching" like alot of honda haters seem to think. I think that the new design is very nice on both the coupe and sedan, i just wished they would have priced them a little cheaper...im also pissed they didnt offer the 2.4 with a 6 speed, you can get a new altima 2.5s with a 6 speed for 18k

$1400 shipped for the wheels and tires. Top of the line Michellen All season tires. Less than 100 miles on them. The tires at a good price are $250 - $300 each new.

Yeah, I agree. I drove a 4 cylinder coupe yesterday, as the dealer doesn't want people putting any miles on the V6s. The 4 cylinder coupe with 190 horses is comfortable. They have really made it quiet too, but I love the Honda revs!

I love how quiet my 4 cyl. Accord is. It just makes you want to drive.
