Hey Guys,
I went to Midas, and they said it would be $283 for rotors, pads and labor. Honda wanted $407. Should I just go with Midas? The wheel pulsates a little as does the brake pedal. Whatcha think?

first i would see if they can be resurfaced ,,,,,,,did they measure them and said thet they were too thin ?? if thick enough resurface them .. go to a shop that has, an on car lathe
Honda rotors are about 80-90 dollars each,, midas probably uses some cheap rotors i am sure , If you are mechanically inclined and have some tools and time ,, there is a fulll write up on out DIY section ,,
ask midas how much they would charge in labor if you got your own parts
I would use Honda pads and a set of Brembo rotors ,, a lot cheaper than Honda and good quality

Yeah, they said the rotors were really really worn down. Midas doesnt have an on car lathe, and both Midas and Honda recommended I get new ones. My car has 86k miles and the rotors are original. The pads look great though. Thanks!

Where would I get the Brembo rotors? Could you provide a link so I know I am getting the right product?

http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/products/products.php?brand_name=brembo&part_name=brake_dis c&make_text=honda&year=1997&category=brake&subcate gory=brake_disc&model_text=accord

if the pads are over 50% just sand them down and reuse them

i think midas rotors are fine, but I would use honda pads. i had bad experience with the midas pads (they used raybestos at the time)

Thanks for the link! But which ones should I get. The very first says its for a 4 cyl 5 door?! lol I want a good set though.

Also, how long do rotors last w/ average driving?
Thanks for the help guys!

I had Raybestos on before my latest set of pads (Quietstop ceramics) and the Raybestos were great besides the fact that I wore them out in 12k miles.

Alright. Once again thank you for the help!

One more question though, would the cross drilled rotors last longer because they dissipate heat more? Therefore reducing chances for warping.

They don't really dissipate heat better. The holes allow out-gassing from the pads to flow out, so the pads don't float on their own gases. That's not really an issue except on the track.

They often have shorter life because of hairline cracks around the holes.

my raybestos pads warped 2 sets of rotors...lucking car-x (or midas...i think it was the x) warrantied them
