Hi all,
another new member.

My wife bought a new 2007 accord Se v-6, 6 mos. ago. This is a sweet car so far.
The car is our first foreign car,and she/we chose the Accord because of its reputation.
I like to get to know my cars, trucks, snow throwers, lawn mower, etc. so i thought this forum was the place to be.

That being said, I've been reading that owners of thethe 2008 accord v-6 with VCM are not happy with the cars shifting back and forth between cylinders. Anybody here have any info on this?
Have a nice day

welcome daswede and to answer you question i know more about the overall workings of displacemnt on demand [dod] the pourpose of VCM or variable cylinder management is to lower gas consumption and save money, same this with GM's AFM and Dodge's MDS. its all ment to save gas but so far has not proven to take away horsepower. just look at the new chevy impala ss which has 300 hp and can run on 4 cylinders :-D

Thanks for the welcome.
I was reading another Accord forum pertaining to the 2008 Accord, and 1/2 of the new owners disliked the cylindersshutting down, and starting up as driving needs dictated. They felt it was a problem with the VCM. Thats why i asked.
Thanks for the replies
