WheelBrokerAng[sm=pimp.gif] I believe the code was P1457 99 EX V6 03-03-2005, 03:07 PM I have a 99 EX V6 Sedan with about 74000 miles. It is at the dealership right now. My check enigine light came on ever since I did a floored it on a wet rainy day. The wheels spun for a while and the Check Engine Light came on. I have had it shut off several times with my own personal (non-Honda employed) mechanic at no charge. He did mention that the codes had to do with the catalytic converter. I took it to Honda, where it is now getting a new cat. conv. It is covered by warranty by Honda until 80,000 miles. I've heared that the Accords have problems with these, particularly the 98's and 99's. The guy from the Honda dealership also said that another code came up for an Evap leak on the cvs valve. The cost to fix this was 285.65. I have looked up CVS valve on the net and can't find a thing. I'm not going to have this fixed right now. I'll see what my mechanic says. I'm just concerned of the reason of why the cat. conv. failed. I know I haven't answered your questions, but just wanted to let you know of my situation which may be similar. BTW, have had a solenoid problem fixed and replaced by Honda. Supposedly the warranty had been extended on that too. I think the tranny is covered until 100,000. |
