Welp, I have my t3/04e turbo sitting in my room. I am really hoping to find the "perfect" turbo manifold for a good price, but i dont know how long that will take.
Trying to find one small enough that i wont have to remove the a/c. Hope I wont pass the $600 mark for the turbo manifold and 5 bolt downpipe.

a+ on your purchase. its not how small the manifold is but how its made..

Your downpipe is going to be the real deciding factor in keeping the a/c or not. If you go over a 2.5" d-pipe, you may have to get rid of it. Oh well, less weight and rotating mass, right?

Ive actually seen one that is a little shorter then the one mbo has it also has the flange out towards the front of the car. I am hoping to find one of those. But my problem is one of the hoses for the a/c goes across the fans, and in theory i should be able to get a 3 inch pipe if the manifold has the flange off set to the left of center

Yeah, if you can get a manifold from a drag or turbonetics kit (or any kit that is supposed to retain AC) you'll have a better shot at keeping the A/C.

yeah, the only manifold that ive seen that i would consider putting on my car are 400+ wish i were finding used ones.....

your manifold should seriously cost about 200-250 dollars and you should have no prob keeping the a/c. keep looking.

hey idk what engine you have but try f22parts.com

its an f23 engine, from what ive seen a lot of the f22 manifolds line up with the bolt pattern on my engine.
And f22parts have 2 different turbo manifolds, both of which were the design i was considering, but the cast iron one which has better flow is 500 http://www.f22parts.com/item_castturbomanifold.htm
and the stainless steel one is 400 http://www.f22parts.com/item_turbomanifold.htm and if you look at it, it doesnt scream design efficiency.

they dont but the cast one it better built and they have better quality to them. yes they cost more but worth it.

YAY well for those going with a custom kit and want a cast iron turbo manifold, www.importparts.com Instead of doing the 500 dollar generic turbo manifold im getting the one specifically for my engine. and its 355 ^_^ Next is the turbosmart bov and wastegate..... going to be hunting for the ideal piping tho, unless i just want to shell out 450 just for the piping

I really wish I had foung that manifold when I was making my kit!

I was amazed to find that they offered the kit manifolds seperately. AND I am very very happy that i found it cause now i dont have to screw with any pesky a/c components. lol

when you get ready to do your downpipe go with a 2.5, a 3" will get band'd up when you drive across speed bumps.

thats.... odd..... I wouldnt think the kit would have that issue..... like... the pipe itself was too long going to the ground.... But im thinking the easiest down pipe i can get is one that was intended for a civic.... I just need to have it setup in the turbo setting where it will be to see how close of a fit it will be......

welp, turbo piping 2 1/2inch, fmic 3inch core, greddy bov, turbosmart 38mm wastegate, boost controller, hoses and all the happy little screws, bov and wastegate gaskets, bov flange for $360
Need:
5 bolt Down pipe
wastegate downpipe
screws for turbo to manifold
gasket for manifold to exhaust, turbo to manifold, turbo to downpipe, down pipe to cat
boost meter
a cute fuzzy kitten to blame when i find out the wastegate has a 15psi spring in it, and my engine blows. I think this one might be the most expensive piece......

I want a turbo... :( ever since I heard that the f22 is great for turbos I've wanted one for my car...
marbro

yeah, two main reasons why turbos are better for f series engines, first f engines have basically a 1 to 1 hp to ft lbs torque ratio and that transfers over when you run boost, to get that on an h series you have either change the crank, and or change the rods and pistons which brings me to number two, the h22 mentioned for swapping has no less then a 10:1 compression ratio which means you have to run less boost otherwise you will brow the engine, so if you want to run a lot of boost you have to change the pistons, and if you change the pistons you might as well change the rods as well, oh..... theres a third thing...... if you want you can run a lot of boost on the f series engine...... why? cause if you blow it they are cheaper then the h series lol
actually had a friend recommend that to me but i want an engine thats strong and wont blow up on me lol

I forgot to mention the down pipe will hit if your car is lowered. If it's normal height you should be fine. I don't think civic's have that flex pipe on the down pipe like accords do. I believe you need that because of the length.

if you close the deck you can run about 30 psi in your f series.or if you get some darton ductile iron sleeves

I want a second f and I plan on closing the deck and the like.
I had some dude in a fixed up lancer (not an EVO, though) stop next to me after trying to race me and asked what motor I had in my car. Haha these f's are great!
Good luck with the turbo project, marbro. Sounds like you're well on your way to having a real life turbo honda.

Yeah, all things considered i know im going to spend more then 1500, but it will still be less then a 3000 dollar kit lol

yeah. i know what you mean. im still waiting to find the money to even get started piecing together a kit.
