I have a 2000 Accord EX. Recently, the dashboard backlight is intermittently on and off. It is not some invidual warning light, it is the backlight for the whole dashboard, so when it goes out, I can't see anything on the dashboard at night. I suspect the light bulbs is going out or there is some loose wire? Does anybody know how to fix this? Many many thanks.

There are 2 bulbs towards the top (at least on my 96' accord) that light the dash. You'll need to take off all the trim and stuff to get to those bulbs. But yeah, it's the bulbs that are probably going.

I'm having the same problem on my 2000. Mine happened after I installed a new cd player. I've done hours of looking into the problem and have yet to find a solution and also close to 25 other people having the same problem. Thanks a lot for the reply. Could you be a little specfic of how to take off the trim? Will it affect any wiring behind the dashboard?
