View Full Version : Wet Paint
RTexasF 05-13-2006, 12:56 AM Wheelbroker[/b], this stuff will make you grin because it's SO easy for us old farts to use and provides the look of all day with a buffer......but without the buffer.
About two weeks ago I stumbled across and ordered this:
http://www.wetpaintglaze.com/
With trepidation I applied it to my gal's dirty Corolla. It performed exactly as advertised. I put the car out in the sun and looked in vain for scratches, none to be found. The finish was indeed slick and looked wet. The glass was astounding in its clarity and reflection. WOW is all I could say.
Next I tried it on a neighbor's horridly filthy black car, complete with white water stains all over it from the Texas mineral content water. Not only did it remove the built up filth on the car but it also took care of the water spots....they were removed completely! The paint was as new including a fender that had been repainted. It was difficult to see the difference between the old and the new.
Then I tried it on a few different surfaces as described on the website......glass, mirrors, porcelain sinks, counter tops.......it worked on every one! Holy Smoke!!
No, I don't sell or represent it but I'm damn glad to have found it. I would like to represent it.
All surfaces are so slick that dirt just doesn't stick. Glass, painted surfaces (car), and others simply wipe clean or rinse off.
I am blown away by this stuff and took two weeks of trials before I wrote this tonight.
Here's my take on this stuff--
+ easy apply & removal, even with dirty (not mud caked) surfaces.
+ no scratching.
+ use el cheapo terrycloth towels, microfiber just doesn't work as well.
+ amazing slick finish even after two weeks.
+works on many surfaces.
+ glass will wipe clean with a single swipe two weeks later.
-fine spray spritzes product in areas that need to be cleaned with a detail brush. Door handle areas, crevices, etc.
- requires applicator from manufacturer but it works so well I can't really moan about it.
- If applied too heavily, which I did, dusting is apparent. It's easily taken care of with a California Duster. The best bet is to read the directions, and apply sparingly.
So far I've used this in roughly 20 different applications and I'm blown away each and every time. I wish I had found this years ago.
Is it a substitute for the buffer? No
Scratch removal? Not so hot
Can it take the place of waterless wash and quick detailer?
Yes....in spades.
Can you tell I'm blown away with this stuff?
I HIGHLY recommend.
It earned me a full detail job this coming Tues. just from the demo.
I'm ordering more!
Since I first wrote this I found out that it does remove light marring/scratches when used with a Porter Cable buffer. I have at least a grand worth of products in my detailing arsenal and this one works for 95% of the detaililing problems I encounter. It's just that good. There is no need to top it with wax, it stands out by itself and is VERY long lasting. Expect 3-6 months after two applications, preferably done one immediately behind the other.....done by hand.

deserthonda 05-13-2006, 03:00 AM WOO .. this thing sounds great i am definatelly going to give it a try..,, thanks for posting it ..:)
RTexasF 05-13-2006, 03:51 AM You will find it well worth the money and time spent. If you are going to work on one or two cars order a "Combo Pack" as shown on their website. It will do a Civic sized car 12-15 times. I've done eight F-250 size 4 door long beds with a single Combo Pack and had a tad left over. This was done outside so I lost a bit of product to windage which they advise you to be aware of. It works on anything that is non porous. After the car do your furniture and mirrors with it, you just won't believe your own eyes. Chrome, stainless, non porous counter tops? You just won't believe the outcome. TEX< TEX< can I use It On My Almost Bald Head? Will It Make It Shine [sm=happy046.gif] Angelo
Simple example for household use: use it on the mirror in the bathroom where you shave and brush your teeth. A MONTH later wipe all the splatters off of your mirror with any old towel and the crud just disappears. No windex, no nothing, just wipe it off with a towel. As far as the car goes, bird caca, bugs, tar, just wipe off. If it's really sticky just give it a spritz with WP and wipe it off. I've never come across anything like this before and detailing cars is my only income. I'm sure you will find even more uses for it than I have.
DH- You excel in repairs, I excel in oil knowledge and detailing products......we both have something to bring to the table. If I find an exceptional product I want to make everyone aware of it. On the other hand, if I bought a turd.....I want everyone to know about it too.

That product should be sold every wher'es..I wonder why I've never seen it before Tex..
Thanks for the information on this product and the websites link..
WheelBrokerAng[sm=thanx.gif]
RTexasF 05-13-2006, 11:57 PM Ang,
It is exceptional on white. I just did a Toyota truck with it (used the buffer to save time) and it had a liquid look shine. This was on old single stage paint.
White pearl clearcoat will really pop.
If you have any questions about the product lay them on me. When you order tell them Rick in Texas sent ya'!
Wheelbroker, you've got PM!
ftgibson 05-30-2006, 03:46 PM Has anyone else noticed that the product contains kerosene? Why does this not sound like a good idea to do? Its not like I'd go to the gas station and pump fuel on my car to watch it shine. I realize that most polish has some type of alcohol.... but kerosene seems like its a bit more harsh. what does this do to your paint / clearcoat over time?
mbo1985 05-30-2006, 04:02 PM I just bought some of that turtle wax ice polish to try and make my wonderful (not) Macco paintjob look decent. It looked awesome for a day or too but it seems like it's gone after 2 rain storms we had. Maybe I'll try this wet paint stuff...

It also has 30+ other ingredients in it which apparently all work together. What does it do long term? Well, my gals's 3 year old Corolla's paint looks brand new and mine looks better than new. I know of a ten year old Mitsubishi that has never had anything but WP on it and it is awesome. The fact (from their website) that it has been produced and continually improved for 18 years speaks volumes to me. I'll continue to use it once or twice a month. I have only washed my car ONCE this year and that's because it was a total mud puppy from a long rainy trip. It was an easy wash at that.....dirt, bugs, sap, etc., have a tough time sticking to paint that has WP on it.
It does have very good longevity unlike some of the over the counter stuff.
nixalot 06-27-2006, 06:30 PM Okay... you talked me into it... I ordered a combo pack...

03Sleeper 08-08-2006, 03:58 AM Good for satin silver?
RTexasF 08-22-2006, 12:50 PM I have not come across any color that was not enhanced with this product.
RTexasF 09-29-2006, 07:33 PM For those that would like to see how quickly and how well Wet Paint works, go the site which is http://www.wetpaintglaze.com/index.html .
On the opening page scroll down and click on the video. You will need the newest Quicktime to view it and the link is right there.
ncsgoofy 11-05-2006, 04:23 PM Oh man, I just got my WP combo pack, used it on my 92 LX with the factory paint on it, it's unbelievable how great it looks. And the customer service is outstanding, i ordered Mon at lunch, had the product in hand Thursday afternoon...Wow.
Not to shabby for 14 year old paint.
Even made the magnaflow shiney...:)
RTexasF 11-11-2006, 12:25 PM WOW! I would have lost a bet that the car had been repainted.........WOW!
sir_nasty 11-11-2006, 05:56 PM you and me both.... Do you have some before pictures by chance? that looks great!
WheelBrokerAng 11-12-2006, 03:56 AM I already use this product also so I wasn't surprised to see the shine but I will admit that it sure looks good on your Honda..

you got your car on the website??
ncsgoofy 11-13-2006, 10:16 PM Forgot to get before pictures, also didnt think it work this well. I've used wax after wax and same for polish, this is hands down the best i've ever used.
RTexasF 02-04-2007, 11:46 AM SEE! I told you so!!
blackex19 02-04-2007, 04:36 PM i wonder what this would do to my car. . . . .
RTexasF 02-04-2007, 09:34 PM Itwill peel off all of the paint and turn it purple............and orange...............and green................and black..........with pink polka dots.
After looking at what it can do with 15 year old paint why did you even post that? Trying to rack up some posts? SHEESH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
blackex19 02-04-2007, 10:53 PM ehhh?? chill out thats not what i ment
RTexasF 02-04-2007, 11:24 PM OK, I'm chilled. What did you mean then? Ask a realistic question and get a reasonable answer.
The stuff is top notch, read the Wet Paint thread from the beginning and it should give you an idea how your car will look after using the product.
If you have questions about it I'llgladly assist with no grief.
blackex19 02-05-2007, 03:30 AM it wasnt even a question. .there is no question mark ? but yeah i read everything about this product and im gonna buy the whole company. . .jk haha will this stuff kill my carbon fiber parts??
RTexasF 02-05-2007, 08:34 AM No, it will renew them. They will have adeep shine and be very slick to the touch.
thunder_x 03-04-2007, 03:57 PM im about to order some, but will this work on my moldings? rims? tires?
and do i wash my car before i apply it?
RTexasF 03-04-2007, 04:56 PM It will work on everything NON-POROUS so tires no. Everything else is a go including exterior glass. Wash the car if it is filthy, if light soil there's no problem. Got to their site and watch the video at the bottom of the first page.....he's cleaning a dirty car.
qpon808 04-15-2007, 07:44 PM ok so i am very interested in purchasing this product, i will call tomorrow to place my order, just a few questions though, right now i wash my ride once a week and use turtle wax ice once a month, once i use WP will i need to wash it every week? i also have 18" kruz K30's which are chrome on it, it usually takes about 10-15 min. a wheel to completly clean, will WP cut this time? also right after i clean the wheels i drive a few miles and then they have dust all over them, will WP help this any? I live in Tucson Arizona and lately it has been quite windy, i was my car and an hour later its dusty from all the dirt blowing aroud will WP repel the dust or make it easier to get rid of? I have been reading posts all weekend about small scratch removal and swirls and all your input has halp me out a ton! thanks for all your input! have a great day!
thunder_x 04-15-2007, 07:51 PM i watched the tutorial video on their website and they said its a good idea to not use it in windy conditions, and you also dont need to wash your car before you apply it, but i wash my car anyways because i want a deep clean and i dont want me towels to get all black
and it should cut the time for cleaning your wheels
i cleaned my rims for about 5 minutes each wheel
but that also depends on how well you do it
i didnt clean them that great...

Will you have to wash it every week? HMMM.......I guess you mean because of the blowing dust? Once two coats of WP have been done it will be easier to keep clean but there are too many variables to give that a yes or no answer. You might be able to get by with agood rinse and wipe down with a microfiber towel.
When you call to order be sure to tell them you found out about it on this forum.
I'd say that the time to clean each wheel will be cut down but it's not anti static......dust is dust, it will accumulate eventually but be easier to remove. WP will blow you away with chrome.
thunder_x 04-16-2007, 02:23 AM why tell them that you found out on this forum?
RTexasF 04-16-2007, 10:45 AM Generally they ask how you heard about the product, it just saves a little time that's all. No hidden underlying reasons if that's what you're thinking.
03Sleeper 04-19-2007, 12:29 AM Gahh...I wish the ordering process would be easier. I'm too lazy to call...lol

gliff159 05-03-2007, 05:38 PM will this stand up against pollen im tired of washing my car and then walking outside the next day and it being yellow. i think i order it anyway
RTexasF 05-03-2007, 07:46 PM Not likely, that calls for Kryptonite[sm=roll.gif][sm=roll.gif][sm=roll.gif]or Dynamite.
I've only come across one product that willhelp......Finish Kare #425, a spray on quick detailer that imparts anti-static properties to the paint along with an outstanding shine and slick feel. It helps with dust, no two ways about it, but pollen? It will help some but when you're dealing with tonsof pollen in the air I don't know how much good it would do.
Scroll down to #425 http://www.fk1usa.com/products-consumer.htm
Note: If you decide to try it order a 4oz. mist bottle on the same site. The sprayer on the quart bottle sucks. You can do an entire full sized car with less than 1/2 ounce. Microfiber towels required as with most everything - except Wet Paint......terrycloth works best in that case.

tradosaurus 05-04-2007, 08:23 AM I used wet paint for the first time last week.
Time will tell if this product is a "one of a kind" product.
I keep wondering though if if take an average wax and liquify it to the point I can spray it would I get the same results? I think I do a trial. [8D]
RTexasF 05-04-2007, 11:45 AM Wax has no cleaning or sealing properties like Wet Paint. They are not even close to each other in performance or purpose.

Wax has no cleaning or sealing properties like Wet Paint. They are not even close to each other in performance or purpose.
How do you know? Facts, figures?
By the way I did use it on two vehicles and it worked very well.
But so has regular car wax.
RTexasF 05-07-2007, 10:11 AM Product knowledge*, simple as that. Some "cleaner waxes" have a little cleaning property but none have the cleaning ability of WP. I'm glad that you like the look. You'll find that it will last considerably longer than a standard carnuba wax does too.
*Read the product description of WP and do the same on a carnauba wax. The differences are apparent.
joninja 06-10-2007, 02:14 PM i thought it would hold up a little better after hearing all the comments, it does work great thogh, except on my windshield i have streaks , maybe i need to use more . i spray on, i wipe it in, and then i wipe it off. some ththing with the windshield. anyone else have a problem like this
thunder_x 06-10-2007, 03:21 PM you're supposed to wipe it on, then flip over the towel and wipe it off that should solve it..
gliff159 06-10-2007, 03:43 PM i bought som and for some reason it starts to come off after a week or two it returs to white specks? any ideas?
thunder_x 06-10-2007, 04:12 PM are both of you using terry cloths?

White specks have nothing to do with the product. It lasts for months with the cars I do. What does "comes off after a week or two" mean? Please explain yourself in detail.

Never.
Either you are using too much or not wiping it down thoroughly, When in doubt get a clean terrycloth towel to wipe it down with.
WheelBrokerAng 06-10-2007, 05:29 PM Hi Rick:
I have never had any problems with Wet Paint either, still is the easiest product Ive used in years :)
WheelBrokerAng
joninja 06-11-2007, 12:33 AM yes i use terry cloth towels, which spread lint all over, very annoying. i have washed them before use and still the same problem. i rub it in for quite a while to get rid of the streaks, but still persists. i will use a smaller amount next time.
joninja 06-19-2007, 12:38 AM i used wet paint sunday on my car, and today it rained. its got rain spots all over, i thought wet paint would resist those i mean it was the very next day. . i even tried to rub it out with a clean tery cloth towel and the spots will not just go away. i wash the car every week with wet paint i thought it would be bulletproof? also i tried using the clay bar and IMO it sucks ass it just spreads orange water around and it leaves a sticky haze on the car.
RTexasF 06-19-2007, 07:56 AM If the rain is full of contaminants nothing will keep it from spotting. I've been caught in showers and the car almost cleaned itself. The next time it was a spotted up mess.
When used correctly claying the car leaves the finish as smooth as a baby's arse, never any residue. I suggest that you are not doing it correctly. What were you using as a lubricant??
joninja 06-20-2007, 02:28 AM i bought the clay bar in a box[ kit with the showtime car detailer, it almost seemed like sticky water. what wouldm you suggest i use? thenext time i wash the car i would like to wet paint the car, then use the clay bar to remove all those little bumps
RTexasF 06-20-2007, 03:59 AM It's wash, clay, wash, then WP. The clay will remove whatever is on the paint. You can use soapy water for clay lube.
nafango2 10-30-2007, 08:08 PM Bought it, and applied it twice.
It was good, not great, but good.
The shine was OK, didnt really blow me away. What surprised me was how slippery it was.
However, the car seemed to get MORE dirty with wet paint than before wet paint. However, the dirt is more like dust in the fact that i can literally be brushed off, since the coat is so slippery. So all in all, i would rather have to rinse my car every week than wash it every month.
Im still confused on how to buff it, I have a buffer but have never used it before.
So i Spray the wet paint on, then take the buffer and just keep buffing it till theres no residue left? Or do I rub the wet paint in first then use the buffer?
Also, when I dont use a buffer, do I want to keep rubbing with the first towel till theres no reside left, then rub the second towel all over, or do I use the first towel while the residue is there then wipe off the residue with the second towel?
RTexasF 10-30-2007, 08:33 PM What kind of buffer are you using? The directions for hand application/removal are right on their website. Go to the bottom of the first page and view the video.
nafango2 10-30-2007, 09:13 PM an orbital one. A pretty cheap one. I think its a Bosch and runs at bout 2800 RPM w/ no load (A little fast, I know)
thunder_x 11-01-2007, 08:17 PM the website lists all these metals that wet paint can be used on, but it doesnt say stainless-steel.
anyone here try it on stainless-steel?
i need to polish my muffler, and possibilly the entire piping
RTexasF 11-02-2007, 09:37 AM I don't know how good a job it would do but try a spot to see. I would use a polish specific to metal in this case.
status 02-18-2008, 11:02 PM any one have pics of what it looks like on satin silver.?
falkore24 02-19-2008, 12:55 PM Rick: Wet Paint or Opti Seal? I've never used either, but have both marked down to try. The Opti Seal is from your "Time to strip it down" thread. I plan to show the tc in another year or so ..... after some mods. Right now it's begging for Claybar and I need to figure out what to put on after that.
RTexasF 02-19-2008, 03:45 PM Opti Seal is only usedafter a perfectly prepared surface has been accomplished by machine polishing for hours. It has zero correction ability and simply"locks in" what is beneath it.Unless you're planning on that kind of prep to the surface forget about it.
I would clay & go with WP until you are ready to get a buffer/polisher.
falkore24 02-19-2008, 04:14 PM ORIGINAL: RTexasF
DuraGloss 105 to the rescue so I can start over for the new year. Tomorrow I'll seal it with two coats of Opti Seal. Wipe it on and walk away, no wipedown.
Nice flake pop!
You make it sound so simple ..... but thanks for the answer!!!
RTexasF 02-19-2008, 04:32 PM Let's put it this way......if you are satisfied with the way your paint looks now (when clean) then go for the Opti Seal. It is expensive and has a learning curve but it's not a steep one. Just remember that any swirls or marks will show the same as before.
falkore24 02-20-2008, 08:58 AM So clay, wet paint for 2 coats every 2 months and next year I do the Optiseal?
RTexasF 02-20-2008, 10:17 AM You can use the Optiseal anytime you want to.
falkore24 02-21-2008, 01:55 PM I mean that I'll use it after a year of Wet Paint so the finish is where I want it since you said that it will lock in any imperfections ...... also, I'm waiting for it to warm up a bit to get the paint fixed where the previous owner touched it up. I might just get a ground effects kit because both bumpers have paint damage and the front has a license plate hole. I'm not sure yet, but the car needs clay. I'm slowly getting this car up to my maintenance specs ..... I sense a large order of Royal Purple products in my future ..... RP Oil, tranny fluid and Purple Ice. ..... I'll probably flush the rad and go with Peak yellow lifetime coolant again.
..... MMO, flush, Seafoam ...... ditching the first of 2 catalytic converters.
Daver 04-18-2008, 07:53 PM HOLY Smokes batman!.. wow.. I just did my second coat of WP today.. took me about a hour yesterday and probably 30 minutes today with the second coat.. I have to say, after I did it I parked it outfront and my neighbor came over who has a vette and asked me who detailed my car. I told him of WetPaint which he hadn't heard of and let him borrow my bottle he is going to do it up tomorrow. I have to say after sitting in my driveway all day and getting a ton of pollen on it, all it took was a good drive at 60mph and got back home.. wallah, no pollen :) and it really looks like wetpaint.. Which I have had similar results with meguirs, however, with meguirs it never lasted too long and was no where near this slick.. I have always sworn by meguirs products.. this may have me switching completely
Hey everybody! Been reading about the WP and was wondering, has anyone compared it to the Duragloss stuff? Reason I ask is in my 54 years on this planet I've not found anything to make me change......yet. Really been pleased with the pre-polish, polish and Aquawax treatment on my Tundra and Mommy's Pilot.
RTexasF 04-19-2008, 12:22 PM Two different animals entirely. Wet Paint is an "all in one" product in that it cleans, shines, and seals in one shot. It is ideal for the person that wants their car to look great with minimal fuss. The look it gives is outstanding and does make people stop and take notice as Daver mentioned.
Duragloss has a number of products for different purposes and they work very well. My only gripe is the way they label things. For instance #501 is labeled as a polish for RV's & boats. It is actually a chemical cleaner, the strongest onethey make. #105 is labeled a polish (they love this word!) but it is a lesser chemical cleaner that is also a sealant. Aquawax contains no wax, it is a spray sealant. See what I mean? Once you learn what a particular product actually is and how to use it they are hard to beat for the money. If you are content with Duragloss (and should be)then I see no reason to change.
I have and use both brands depending on what the job is at hand as well as what the customer wants and their budget.
status 07-02-2008, 01:58 AM got my wetpaint the other day, gonna put it on tomorrow. is there that much of a diff with a 2 coat?
RTexasF 07-02-2008, 02:50 AM Not a drastic difference. The main idea behind the second coat is to assure full coverage. You will use less on the secondapplication and it will take less time. Post a picture!
03Sleeper 07-02-2008, 08:54 AM argh....makes me wanna order right now. but w/ satin silver paint...its tough to get a ridiculous awesome shine as compared to a darker colored car.
klrspz 07-02-2008, 09:07 AM OK I ordered some last Friday, it came in yesterday (Tuesday)... Way faster than I thought!!!!
This Friday I'm off work for the 4th of July, so I'll be waking up early and taking care of Sylvia (my wife named my car :)) and gettin her purty before we head out to a party that evening...
Will post before/after pictures for all...
03Sleeper 07-02-2008, 09:45 AM please do...i want to see how WP does on satin silver paint! cant wait! :)
klrspz 07-02-2008, 12:40 PM ME EITHER!!!!!
There's a sort of utopian feeling that comes over me when I give my ride a wash.
I wonder how I'll feel while applying Wet Paint...
falkore24 07-02-2008, 03:38 PM ^^^ My guess ..... hi.
status 07-02-2008, 07:04 PM first one is before all the rest are after.cant get it to up load right so pics will be on

klrspz 07-02-2008, 08:47 PM nice!
funny pics too man...
the pics you attached here are really small :p should get a photobucket or something similar. THen you can paste links like: http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc191/klrspz/03%20Accord/

03Sleeper 07-03-2008, 10:11 AM trunk looks real nice....the beauty of satin silver...is in the right lighting, it looks kinda bluish...sweetness.
falkore24 07-03-2008, 10:38 AM It was a cloudy day, but this will give you an idea of the shine this stuff can give to silver. Mine is called Classic Silver Metallic and the tC only gets 1 coat of clear from the factory ..... those b@s+@rd$!!!!!

RTexasF 07-03-2008, 12:43 PM Boy, that should stop those with silver cars from doubting what WP can do. Very nice and deep reflections.
03Sleeper 07-03-2008, 01:30 PM sweet. im pulling WP on my to-get list.
doesnt the accord only come with 1 clearcoat? or 2?

Thanks Rick! Once I get all of the paint defects fixed, I'm really going to go to town with the claybar! I'm even debating if I want to put myself through the agony called Zaino.

I'm not sure, but it was a lot easier to get a nice shine on the Accord than the tC ..... then again, it was black.
RTexasF 07-03-2008, 04:14 PM Thanks Rick! Once I get all of the paint defects fixed, I'm really going to go to town with the claybar! I'm even debating if I want to put myself through the agony called Zaino.
It wouldn't be worth it to me but that's your call.
falkore24 07-03-2008, 04:56 PM I also want to try Luso Oro. My buddy uses it on his EP3 and that car looks and feels sweet! It's one of the only "hand applied" waxes I've seen.
klrspz 07-03-2008, 11:36 PM OK so I spent about 2-2.5 hours cleaning the car today...
It needed a bath pretty bad, so I did that first, fully dried, then applied WP as described all over the place..
I took pictures of PreWash, PostWash, and lastly PostWP (Post WetPaint). Yeah I went a LITTLE crazy with the pictures... that's why I'm not posting them all in the thread..
My camera pretty much sucks balls, so the quality might be lackluster. Also, I forgot to PhotoShop my license plate out of all the pics so I used PhotoBucket's edit feature, which for some reason left some retarded artifacts of the paintbrush object in random places... Last time I use that... If I'm not too lazy I might update them later.
When I was done cleaning, my wife came out and was like "wow did you already apply the Wet Paint?" Do my dismay, it made me quickly think that maybe WP won't do anything much more for my car? Even as I started to apply it, I was doubting it's abilities.. I mean here I am spraying what looks like watered-down Pepto Bismol all over my car, and when I rub it down it kinda leaves a pasty look behind... Is this going to do ANYthing?
Abso-$*&Y*$ing-lutly!!!! As I started to wipe off the coupe window in my garage (with only a single 45 watt bulb over my head) I could instantaneously detect a SUPERB improvement in reflection... I got so giddy I was yelling obscenities. The wifey came back out and saw the difference.. She too started saying "HOLY #*&$! That looks GREAT!"
I only did 1 coat, and I'm strongly considering a 2nd. As instructed I filled the bottle to about 75% to the top, and probably used a little under 75% of that... I haven't done the math to figure out what consumption that is, but it wasn't much, that's for sure. Now "Sylvia looks sexy in her new dress" as my wife says :)
So I give it 2 thumbs up.
In my pictures it's mostly hard to see, but I feel that these two are the best at showing the differences:

klrspz 07-07-2008, 09:16 AM Yeah, I might do a 2nd application this weekend... see if it shines even more...
I do have to say though, it seems like the silver doesn't really reflect too much more; or it's not as visible... but I still notice a difference.

Itwill increase the look slightly but the main reason for the second coat is to assure full coverage and add another layer of protection. Three coats is about max in achieving the best look. You won't need to use near as much product on the second application.
status 07-11-2008, 10:08 PM what would be the down side to applying the second coat in direct sunlight? assuming i'd limit the spraying to apply it before it drieds.
RTexasF 07-12-2008, 07:50 AM It depends on the outside temp and the color of the car. A mild day and a light colored car is no worries. A black car in 95 degree sunlight will be hotter than the ambient temperature. The product would flash so quickly that it would be a smeary mess.
status 07-12-2008, 10:04 AM No worries, did it last last will have to look at this morining, im sure it looks great.
NighthawkHonda 07-14-2008, 09:46 PM It might just be me, but I can't tell the difference from the pictures between washing/drying, and washing/drying/wet paint. I mean, I can tell the difference between the dirty car, and the WP'd car on the website's video, but other than that, I couldn't tell the difference between the WP, and the ICE polish I picked up the other day.
klrspz 07-15-2008, 08:52 AM Heh, my camera royally sucks... in person it's a day and night difference... really it is...
falkore24 07-15-2008, 04:43 PM Next bottle, try WP.
atarikid07 07-25-2008, 12:04 PM Ordered my friend a combo pack for his birthday and I made sure to mention Rick from Texas. Will post pics up as soon as project is completed. I am stoked.
RTexasF 07-26-2008, 09:16 AM That was a nice gift for your friend, very thoughtful.
mgerencs 07-27-2008, 06:29 PM Has anyone applied wp with a pc and how well did it work?
RTexasF 07-27-2008, 08:25 PM Exceptional look as a matter of fact. Start with a clean dry surface. Using a white finishing pad spread the product on speed 3 (putWP on the surface and the pad) then go to speed 6 for a short time until WP almost disappears. If you go to 6 and it slings product slow down to 3 and work it some more. It may take a panel or two togetthe knack for it.You can feel when you have worked it enough. Wipe it down with a microfiber towel and proceed. It is called burnishing the finish and the look will knock your tallywacker in the dirt!
mgerencs 07-28-2008, 07:29 AM Thank you RTexasF. I had a feeling you'd answer ;). By the way, will wp do any correction if a cutting pad is used?
RTexasF 07-28-2008, 07:41 AM Yes and no. It will do correction with a rotary and a wool pad. In all honesty I haven't tried it with a PC or Cyclo. It's worth a try with an orange or yellow pad for light correction.
mgerencs 07-28-2008, 10:51 AM Thanks for your time. I will do the white pad and pc this week. If I give the orange pad a shot onmy girlfriends vehicle I'll let you know how it went.
RTexasF 07-28-2008, 03:37 PM They do make wool pads for the PC and I have some. I've only used them as backing for a microfiber or terrycloth bonnet thus far. If I've got heavy correcting I break out the Cyclo and an abrasive polish.

You are welcome. Keep the pressure light on the PC, you want as much rotation as possible when burnishing. Smaller pads work even better allowing more rotation.
mgerencs 07-28-2008, 06:56 PM I have some 4" lake country on order. Expect them tomorrow or Wednesday. I'll try them. Thanks again for the advice.
RTexasF 07-28-2008, 08:42 PM Do you have the smaller backing plate?
mgerencs 07-29-2008, 05:35 AM Yes I will. It's coming with the pads.

atarikid07 08-04-2008, 09:43 AM Used wet paint on my friends nighthawk black yesterday and omg. amazing.
will do my silver accord today and post pics!
atarikid07 08-06-2008, 10:04 AM 1st pic may seem spotty, but thats because of trees and light weirdness. 2nd pic is my fav. Bad res phone camera... On 3rd pick, you can tellpassenger headlight (used WP) is a bit clearer. At night, I notice better, brighter light.
WP is amazing. Get it now.

this time i won't take so many to bore you guys ;)
but it should be highres so it'll be easier to see.
Septimus Prime 08-25-2008, 12:49 PM So yeah. I tried this product, and it's pretty sweet. How well does it protect, though? Should I put wax on top of it or anything?
RTexasF 08-25-2008, 02:56 PM It is a sealant and doesn't require anything on top of it.
Septimus Prime 08-25-2008, 07:22 PM Awesome. I have another question, though: What about RainX? Should I apply that on my glass on top of the Wet Paint or just leave it alone?
If the two cannot be used in conjunction, which one is better?
RTexasF 08-25-2008, 07:43 PM I don't like Rain X at all but I don't think putting it on top of another product is the way to go.
falkore24 08-28-2008, 11:38 AM Rain X can be used over WP .... done it before, but it's really not necessary with WP's finish.
RTexasF 01-31-2009, 05:46 AM Rain X can be used over WP .... done it before, but it's really not necessary with WP's finish.
That's good to know. WP acts just as RainX does on the windshield and is a lot easier to reapply when needed.
WheelBrokerAng 01-31-2009, 11:24 PM I like Rtex have now been useing this WP for 2 years or more and I cant praise the product enouf...

Demonrunner 02-18-2009, 09:00 PM After reading this thread I'm going to order some Wp in the morning but I do have a Question ...... Have you ever tried it on a sunfaded vehical or one that has lost most of it's clear coat?
Demonrunner 03-05-2009, 10:20 PM Weather has finally warmed up enouph so I got a chance to use Wet paint on my Grey 87 Accord. First time I tried it according to video on website and Directions didn't turn out too well and had a hard time getting residue off. so i decieded to use a 10 in buffer I got at Advance Auto Parts with a Microfiber bonnet and spritzed a small amount on car where i was trying to remove residue and started buffing, came out Awesome. I figured I may have been useing too much the first time around. Once I figured out the right amount of WP to use it definately lives up to it's name. by the time I was done with car I was loseing daylight.drove car over to a freinds ,He took a look at the car in the dark and noticed for the first time the car accually had a metal flake Paint job!! Can't wait to see the car in the daylight tomarrow.
As soon as I figure out how to post some pics on here and take some pics of car tomarrow, I'll get them posted on here
t00fatt 03-06-2009, 11:45 AM It wet paint safe to use on gel coat on a boat?
Demonrunner 03-07-2009, 01:00 AM I just doublechecked the website and according to manufacture it is safe for Fiberglass boats. they also say that it works on ANY non-porus surface.
t00fatt 03-07-2009, 12:51 PM Beautiful, what stores generally stock it?
Demonrunner 03-07-2009, 05:49 PM Not found in stores you have to goto the website to get phone number and order it that way ....At risk of getting in trouble here is the web site .....http://www.wetpaintglaze.com/index.html

00AccordLX5spd 06-05-2009, 10:22 AM I just read this entire thread for the first time. Quick question:
Do I need a buffer to really use this stuff well, or is hand application fine? I plan on ordering some, but if I need a buffer I may need to wait a while.
Who uses a buffer and who does it by hand?
Demonrunner 06-06-2009, 10:09 PM You can Apply wet paint by hand and in some cases it cleans better that way I personally use a combination of both a 10 in obital buffer you can pick up at any autoparts store to do larger areas and also apply by hand in smaller areas and stubbern spots I mainly use the buffer with a terrycloth bonnet to save some of the hand buffing
Linda_kl 10-07-2009, 07:33 PM i would go find the guy who laid down the paint, beat his a, and then make him lick the paint off.
but on a serious note...and someone correct me if im wrong, but if uve kept up with maintaining ur car, and have had it waxed and cleaned properly, the paint from the lines should be on ur wax, or clear coat. You could try stripping the wax, or very carefully, very carefully, using fine fine grit sandpaper, wet sand it off. You have to make sure u dont go to far into the clearcoat. You can take some of it off, but u dont want to completely strip off the clear.
