I'd go full out built turbo'd engine rather than the gas. Cost lil bit more...but wheee it'd be fun.:D

(i just sent you a msg, then found this posting) i'm considering nitrous after my susp work is complete. i have no clue about nitrous, other than it's not too complicated. are there any major negatives or serious risks? do you need an electronic controller, or is manual operation just fine? any pitfalls to avoid? how many cars and/or hondas in your fleet? what's the most noteworthy of the collection?

the nitrous kit that i ran on an offbrand was a 55 shot Zex stealth wet kit...it is wired into the throttle position sensor, and when the TPS senses full throttle, it turns the nos solenoid on, which injects the nitrous...when the TPS senses you letting off from full throttle, the solenoid shuts off....it is also trigger activited, so when youre just riding around, and you tromp on it, it wont turn on unless you want it to...we had a switch under the dash, that activates the system, and then the throttle position sensor does the rest....the most difficult part is hooking a wet line into the fuel line to make it "Wet shot"...dry shot is MUCH easier, but you run more of a chance of running lean and frying the engine...if you really want to be lazy, you can run a switch directly to the solenoid, so you can spray anytime you want, but if youre not at WOT, it WILL ruin the engine.

I run an 80 shot for now, I usually only spray off the line and again at 60, nothing higher than 60, can't risk blowing my moter. I like my setup, took about 2 weeks to do it the way I wanted it though. But 2 weeks and 3gs later, I'm pretty happy with it.

AHHHHHH,,U HAVE UR SPARY BUTTONED!!!!! NONONONONONONNONONOONONONOONONONO...
badddddddd for your motor. keep spray connected to your gass only and put rev cut outs on it. dont attach to a button, u kill your motor every time. and spraying offf the line is SOOOOOOOOO bad for our motor as well. say bye bye to h22.

button system...for 3g?!?!?! i had a self activating, auto opening Zex system that monitored fuel pressure and throttle position, and it was only 700 bucks...plus another 100 something for the gas...

I aplogise in advance for this:
But i think nos is gay. very gay. it makes me think of people who like to show off - how fast they are - by driving in a straight line! lol.
Nothing to do with the fact that a golf destroyed me: with nos aid - and i cant afford it
[sm=smiley19.gif]
(like the idea of it being wired to the throttle though! never knew you could do that)

Habeel i'm with u on this one i dunno i dont find nos useful sure u can get a guy off the line or race him and then use the shot of nos but thats not how u race..... if ur gonna race someone u race them not NOS them...i find its a waste of money to give u boost for such a short little time period

if your car is strictly a drag car them im all for it but i cant see riding around with that bottle every day id be tempted to use it to blow past a granny on the interstate and in my whay when i do my ricer flyby into the 3rd lane

I see how NOS would be awsome, and i was thinking about putting some in my car; a 91 Accord LX. But for you NOs junkies, make good friends with a local dentist, then maybe the dentist will let you fill your bottle when he fills your cavities. :D

ok sorry but my oppinion nitrous is a waste, its dangerous to your motor, and most people just put it on there car with a purge kit, to purge like they do in the movie. its just to show off, and for those of you talking about "nos" that is another line out of the movie fast and the furious. "Nos" is a company name for a company that makes "Nitrous" kits thats it. Im not trying to sound like an ass but thats a pet peave of mine that just makes this sport look ricey

i have a 91 accord lx and it has a nx 75 shot on it yeah it runs out, and it is on stock internals. i love it , to me it was worth the money, but it sucks when you have a race you could win and it runs out

I have to agree with the majority of you guys in saying that "NOS" is really overrated. Except for the dumb people that just bolt it up and leave most of the stock internals in place. Some dude with a Cavy did that in my town and it was funny when the car blew up. So if ricers want to keep doing that I say go for it!

well I just dont personally like nitrous because how caustic it is to alluminum. no2 is really easy though. so you need air and fuel to make a explosion and at the right mixture. you cant add more fuel without getting more air, that why you port your heads and stuff because the system flows better so more gas can be thrown on the fire. well no2 is its own self contained explosion, it has the fuel the 'N' and the oxygen all in one molecule. actually after all is said and done, it actually leaves extra oxygen in the equation, this is how people talk about the danger of running lean with it. the "dry" system is really easy, you just tap in a spray nozzle, and spray a nitrous stream into the intake tract, this mixes with rest of the stuff in the cylinder, and make a more powerful explosion. thats it. now when you want to spray some serious nos, you have to account for the stoic ratio in the cylinder, run it too lean and your motors toast. so when the spray is on, you need something to increase the amount of actual gas thats being sprayed in. some kits add extra injectors or just bigger injectors, you can increase the fuel pressure or just fatten the "pulse" of the injector. lucky for us all, when you get a kit, everything you need to compensate is all there..

if you are scared of running nitrous then get used to seeing tail lights alot so i wouldn't be scared of nitrous because i run a 105 shot though a stock motor (f22b2)

this is just a pet peeve of mine, but i think it should be called nitrous, not nos, nos sounds rice, and rice is bad, but im for and againest nitrous because it would be fun as hell if you had it hooked up to zip around in but if it isnt hooked up right, you blow your engine in like a millisecond

had a friend who ran no2 on his grandam with only a 60 shot, he has everything hooked up right. Didnt change the fact that he destroyed some of his intake valves. And running direct port wet on a stock engine without even upgrading the connecting rods or the pistons to forged will bring you some happy misfortune.
Has nothing to do with being scared, it has to do with the eventuality of ruining your engine.

I have a 2002 accord SE 4 door sedan with a 55 shot ZEX dry kit on it. It works perfect for when i need it. i have headers and intake and a dual exaust on my 4cyl. i mean its a cheap way to go fast but it dont last long for nothing. but i use it anytime. mine activates by the trottle positioning sensor and an arming switch. used it off the line but mainly on a role. i have also done it from 40 all the way to 120 just kept it floored racing my friends v6 altima spanked it too. i was very sceptic at first but got it only for a car show i entered to purge but then i had to try it. i've had it in for about 3 months and used about 10 tank fulls already in a 10lb bottle and nothin wrong or has blow up. i have family members that drag with nitrous and also a good friend that installed and fills my bottle that installs performace parts for a shop for a living tell me if i use it right and dont put any more than the 55 shot that i have nothin should happen. he says that 55 shot for an f23a1 stock motor is good nothing more. and with my little mods it would handle fine. i would rather prefer a turbo kit but i havent seen a resonable kit yet for it, but if i keep it i plan of turboing it. its cheap hp and its fun will it lasts so as long as you use it and dont put to much shots in then you should be fine.
