now i know this is a dumb question guys, but is there anyway i can run like 5-6psi of boost if i went out and purchased only the following:

turbo exhaust manifold
turbo (one that fits the manifold)
misc gaskets
misc intake tubing (no intercooler & just the tubing from the turbo to the intake)
misc exhaust parts (just the tubing from the turbo to the muffler)
FMU unit
wastegate

im trying to piece together a kit that would run on my vehicle, albeit at low boost for now, then later i could add to it to make it what it needs to be, but i need your guys input first (i only have the money to buy those things listed for now lol).

blow off valve if you dont have that you will kill your turbo
boost gauge you need to know how much boost your running so you can stop running hard if need be
innercooler you want that because you dont want heated air being forced in due to it possibly causing detonation


you want to plan this out in detail, save as much as you need to, to get it all done right, learn as much as possible otherwise you will have problems in the end

That's right. If you MAP sees boost your car will run like total garbage. Look for the missing link check valve if you have the $50 or so. It bolts right between the throttle body and map sensor. Otherwise you'll need some aqauarium style check valves.

And like marbro mentioned, you'll need a blow of valve. I'm also going to 2nd his recommendation for the intercooler. It's just a preventive step for your motor and you'll need it when you want to turn up the boost. Plus you'll make more power with it, so it's money well spent.

I'm also going to recommend a fuel pump. If you want to run the FMU for a while, find an inline pump. If you plan on going to ECU based tuning method, an in tank replacement for the stock pump is better. Both will work for an FMU type setup, but I would recommend the in tank one like the walbro 255 pump.

you may also want to add an air fuel ratio gauge to make sure you're not leaning out. A wideband o2 sensor would be even better.
