I just read in my manual that the tranny shouldn't be changed until like 100,000 and something miles!!!! I call BS on that. Does anyone else see that as a problem? Hell, on every vehicle I have ever owned I changed the tranny fluid and filter every 30,000 with normal tranny fluid, or every 60,000 with Amsoil synthetic fluid. I think Honda is smoking some serious crack on this one!

Are you talking auto or manual? Either way I wouldn't go that long on a bet!

Have you had the current modification done by the dealership? It is vital and done under warranty. I feel that 30K with synth is a good move, 15-20K with standard fluid.

I have a friend who has a 03 with an Auto trans, could you please tell me what the recall is about and if it's for all or certain vin#'s?
If it's important I'd like to get the information to him quickly. He isn't having any problems that I know of but he's a good friend and would like to let him know if he is looking forward to something going wrong with his car. He got it used and I'm not sure what his warrenty coverage is either or if that would matter with a recall issue. Thanks lots for this information.
I'm going to be getting a new or low mileage V6 EX Coupe manual trans and have been looking for any information on how reliable they are. I'm only concerned because of what I've read on the Acura RSX forums about how much trouble they are having with their 6 speed MT and I don't know how much relation there is between Acura's and Honda's 6 speed transmissions. So it's a point of concern that I want to get clear before I commit to buying mine. Thanks
