Hey Hey Hey
I had my headers and exhaust put on a few weeks ago and havent really had a chance to go on a long trip and check out the gas mileage. I got a new o2 sensor in the manifold (Bosch) and usually I smell a little gas when I first start it up and then every once in a great while when its warm. Plus I only got about 300 miles from full to a little over half way between 1/4 and empty. Is that decent? I didnt drive very hard and had about half town driving and going 60 mph. How about the other 96-97 Accords?

I was getting around 33mpg while traveling 60mph on the highway. Anyone else?

Wow...that's pretty good. My 28.3 MPG is overall average. I think the highest I ever gotten was 35-36...but that was when the car was new. It's fallen to around 33-34 now.

28 is pretty good for an overall average as well though too! I just expected to see a noticeable increase with headers and an exhaust.

Mine stays in the mid 20's in town and mid 30's on the road with the A/C on 100% of the time. Best ever was 37.9 with A/C off.

I've been getting about 22 mpg when I keep off the gas in town. highway mileage is still fine (28+ mpg @ Speeds >= 70 ). Keep in mind this is with turbo so it's not as great as a non turbo accord but it's not bad like a V8 or my girl's jeep which gets 250 miles per tank!

Those all sound pretty decent:) But I only got 300 miles from full until the needle was half way between empty and 1/4. So if I were getting 24 mpg that means I would have 4 1/2 gallons of gas left. Im starting to think my gas mileage has gone to poo for some reason:(.

You can't judge MPG by how far you went on a tank. You've got to fill up and divide the miles traveled by the gallons used, having started with a full tank in the first place.
For instance if you traveled 300 miles and it took 10 gallons to fill up (tank was full to begin with), that's 30 MPG.

My gauge is weird anyway. I think they lie a bit to try to convince you to not run out of gas. I can go almost 200 miles before it gets to 3.4 full, yet by 300 miles it is usually down to 1/4 full. The most I have ever gone on a tank is 420 miles. Yet if the 200 miles at 3/4 full meant that I had actually used 1/4 of my gas--I would be able to go 800 miles on a tank.

I just havent had the time tyo take a long trip yet! And now, I dont think I will anytime soon, seeing as BP has lost 8% of oil production in Alaska due to pipe repairs. Can't wait to see the new gas price standard in a few days[:@]........

On average I get about 350 miles/tank. When I have been light footed and warm weather it has achieved about 410.
