Ok pplz,

Some of you 94-97 accord owners must experience the problem with A/C not cooling enough

I thought of you...the summer gets here - so before you go and spend $$$ on A/C recharge and/or temperature cable replacement ( which you need ) heres a little trick to make it work...

....ummmm anyone interested?

So - all 94-97 accords are affected with the temperature control cable problem

the cable just doesnt shut the coolant valve till the end . Honda recommend replacing the cable but heres what you can do in order to get cold air.

turn the temp. dial all the way to the cold , no reach the heat control valve with your hand - and push a little bit toward the front of the car. It will go may be 1/4 of an inch or little less but it will completely shut the valve - and you'll be getting cold air shortly.

now to locate the valve

stand on the passenger side of the hood, reach your hand below the air intake and its kinda on the bottom and the cruise control cable is on the way. theres a big hose that connects to the heater core - theres a white plastic piece with cable attached to it. there is a small space just enough for your hand to reach the bottom. If you having trouble locating it i'll make you some pictures

attention: do not close the valve with force - it will move toward the front of the car about 1-1.5 cm easily without much presssure and will stop - its closed.

it is not a fix - if you turn the temp control dial to hot and back to cold - the valve will not shut completely again but just pushing it with your hand is a little trick to make it work.

in order to fix this problem you have to replace the cable.

enjoy
