i hate the muffler and he kicks out smoke, thats always good out on the street ^_- He's running an h series engine, he would have had so much more torque if he had an f23 block and headswap instead but it doesnt make the idea any less sexy

I'm amazed how quickly that engine winds up. It's POW! and time to shift again.

that's pretty impressive. I hope to pushing 20 psi or whatever that boost gauge went to one day.

for 500 hp that car is pushing more then 20psi, thats just what the gauge went up to

I hope mine will be like that soon. Im hoping to build the F22 to safely withstand 45-50 lbs of boost. I NEED to beat that evo. His turbo might have a bad seal, hopefully its not the engine doing that. Definitely a sick accord. It would be cooler if it was a four door[8D]

if by "withstand" you mean "take it once without exploding" than it might be possible.

I mean, rally cars run like 36, but they only have to last so long. You have to drive your car every day. Not saying that its impossible, but difficult for sure.

I wonder could you get that much power out of a v6 accord.

It probably is 500hp... As long as the internals are strong enough to hold it, a good size turbo can put out 500hp easily. He may not be running his max boost in that vid but he could probably crank up the boost and hit 500hp. And who cares if he has wheel spin through the gears, i'd love to be able to do that:(..

i just find that hard to believe out of that small what 2.2 ltr and as in teh video that was a small turbo. i have friends with wrs's and a gt 35. turno sti block fully built trannys than can barely hit 450hp and they are so fat it is sick. literally smoke all 4 tires off with teh dog box gears.

500hp in that engine is possible but not from the looks of it. i cant make out that turbo but it might be capable of 350hp maxed out. one of my friends here in iowa had the fastest eclipse for as far as i know of it was right at 600hp but i mean this thing was custom built top to bottom with extensive tuning. that accord has a small intercooler and the turbo might be a b18/f22 ish which is only one step up from a stock sti or evo turbo. anything bigger and that small of a engine wouldnt have the guts to run it. it would have virtually no bottom end power.

do some research on it. i have been around this stuff for a long time and 500hp on that is well...... not happenin....

According to this kid I knew, you know a car has a really powerful turbo on it by how much blue smoke it puffs out the back :eek:

you mean black smoke. usually cuz its putting more fuel in than it can handle till the turbo reaches max boost. you see it alot on high hp engines like a supra or something.

If you are seeing blue smoke its a well POS in my eyes.

i know this thread is quite old... but this is my old car and vid i made to help sell the car...

to clear things up with all the non sense and people talking about how the car is and not knowing much about building cars i had to say something...

the turbo is a 61mm gt 35 non bb turbo. its a fully built h22 that has been bored 1mm over. its a custom turbo it and the boost gauge did go past 20psi... it was tuned on pump gas at about 18-19 psi. the smoke that was puffing out was the turbo slowly letting go i believe. i sold it shortly after so i dont know for sure. it did not smoke much. and about reliabilty.. saying it only last a few thousand miles... hahahaa. it was built and tuned in 05 -06 and its still running now. 3-4 years later.

and to everyone that thinks it didnt have 500whp

before i sold it i strapped it back down on the dyno to clean it up some to see how it was doing after 2 years of daily driving. it made 504whp

I know of a couple boosted Accords in the 400-500hp range.

I personally have a friend with an Evo 9MR in the 450-500 WHP range..

its all in how its tuned

i guess you missed the post that i built the car back in 05-06 and that it is still running to this day with the new owner. the engine is sleeved and has forged pistons and rods and arp studs and bolts and professional tuned

i use to drive this to school and back everyday for a year. 60 miles round trip just to school and back 5 days a week. if you calculate that out thats over 14k miles a year... thats just the first year after it was built... now it is 3 years later...

ive read posts that the new owner drives the car hard and races everything... and its still running.

500hp and 4 years later its still going.... as long as you know what youre doing and maintain it itll last.
