OK. I just bought an 05 Accord 3.0 Vtec V6 Coupe. I love my car, but it's so freakin quiet! My last vehicles have been Chevy Trucks with big beefy V8's and loud exhaust. I understand that my V6 won't be able to make this kid of rumble, but i DO NOT want it to sound like a fart can or some kind of pissed off bumble bee if i put exhaust on it. I am clueless as to what brands are good for this type of car. Somebody take me to school! What should i do? get a bolt on cat-back system or piece together a muffler and pipe set at a exhaust shop? And what's the diiference in air intakes?(ram air and cold air, what are the advantages and disadvantages?)

ok quick 101

exhaust are you looking to keep it quiet most of the time id go with either apexi ws, greddy sp http://www.coximport.com/Merchant2//2/apexi-ws.jpg
http://www.greddy.com/images/exhaust_sp2.jpg

the only time these exhaust are really noticeable is at WOT (wide open throttle)

another exhaust that i think sound great all the time are the greddy evo and evo2

This is what i have on my car so im a lil bias but it sounds great all the time nice low sound when idling nice agressive sound when accerlerating and decelerating and throaty when at WOT

lastly in the catbacks ive delt with is the N1 style

the one apexi makes is Loud but not buzzy or fart canny just too loud for my taste

well i hope that helps a lil

ohh and intake wise id go either aem or injen and you cant go wrong

Magnaflow or Borla make nice exhaust for your car...both are oval can cat-backs with nice sound. Not too loud, but noticeable, not John Deere-ish either. Use the same companies if your looking for single mufflers...fortunately for their quality their cheaper than the potato launchers ;) Going custom is good if you know how to do it. You need resonators to quiet the exhaust. The longer the resonantor the quieter the exhaust same goes for the can. The bigger and longer the can the quieter (except Greddy EVO2) it's huge, but not as quiet as it looks mainly because it's wide, but stubby. Magnaflow makes good resonators. The Greddy and Apex for your application = $$$$$
