Frankly I wouldn't just blow it off, I'd have it inspected soon by at least two different garages. The thought of stomping on the brakes without ABS and skidding into trouble is not appealing. poff1986 11-22-2004, 03:21 PM MOST LIKELY ITS BECAUSE YOU HAVE A FAULTY WHEEL SPEED SENSOR. First check your brake fluid levels to make sure their not below the min. limit. it could set off the abs light. most likely its one of those two problems....good luck! Does anyone know how i could get that to go off. I hooked it up to a machine and it didnt say anything. What could i do next? Evlampius 05-11-2005, 11:00 PM turn the engine OFF and wait 10 seconds <--- you have to wait 10 seconds for the memory to reset. you need SRS service connector - when you plug it to the Service check connector the one on the passenger side. Turn the ignition ON - the SRS indicator will come on for 6 seconds and go off. Then it will indicate the DTC code: the DTC consists of a main code and a sub code and including the most recent problem up to three different mulfunctions can be indicated. main code flashes are 1.2 seconds in duration while sub codes are short flashes of 0.3 sec. the delay between codes (main and sub is 2 seconds) in case of intermittent failure the SRS light will indicate the DTC one time then it will stay ON so read the code and tell me what it is jayhova804 05-12-2005, 01:29 AM www.troublecodes.net. this may help you also WheelBrokerAng 05-12-2005, 02:27 AM Yo..Jayhova804... Burn69 05-17-2005, 10:43 PM Ya if you wheels can lock at all...the ABS is not working....meaning you can slide easier...its not a backup system like stated before...its an added feature to the brake system that helps you control better....especially if braking in wet situations. habeel 05-18-2005, 08:21 AM i remember the first time i ever triggered ABS in a car. it was in my accord, the car i had before had 4 drum brakes and locked up really easily. anywho- i slammed on the anchors in the damp and there was this really strange dull thudding feel from the brake pedal. i was really worried, never felt that before and i thought that i had a flat, or blown a tyre when i braked. man i felt stupid getting out the car in the cold- looking at the tyres and thinking "wtf?" and then going "aaahh, stupid me.... that must be the abs!" |
