Default Code # 1259

I have a 99 Accord 2.3 liter manual transmission.
In every gear the car will stutter and drop out of gear at 4000 rpm's. I borrowed a computer and it came up with code 1259, which says "VTEC malfunction".
There are 4 codes for "Vtec malfunction", how do I narrow it down a bit?
Thanks in advance
Uncle T

The code P1259 stands for "Problem in the VTEC Oil Pressure switch circuit or VTEC solenoid Valve circuit"

very unfortunate -

there is a standard procedure to test what has gone bad. This is a high level procedure and I'm not sure you will be available to perform it at home.

To make the story short : it could be open between the Solenoid to ECU, Valve to ECU or damaged ECU, but like i said - unless you're really good with electronic diagnostics in cars I wouldnt recommend to do it yourself.

it means that you have a loose connection somewhere at the ground possibly.

...expect the same problem to pop up in the future

It did, I will probably be finding a mechanic shortly.
