Default 98-02 LED Ribbon for Footwell + cup holder

This ribbon might change the older setups we've been seeing for footwell lighting in this forum:
.ebay.com/itm/5M-5050-SMD-LED-RGB-Waterproof-300-LED-Strip-Light-Lamp-44Key-IR-Remote-New-/230909677231]5M 5050 SMD LED RGB Waterproof 300 LED Strip Light Lamp 44Key IR Remote New | eBay

The reason is that it includes a switcher to power it off so the only thing to keep in mind is that the IR receiver must be exposed somewhere. We don't have to buy a rocker switch anymore.

I'm thinking of implementing this by tapping it on the dome light supervision harness on the box of the passenger side. I want to run the cable so that it provides footwell on both sides but also pass it underneath the transmission shifter and into my cupholders after I drill small holes in them. 5M seems to be a sufficient length for this project. My only question is:

What if I want to keep them on while driving? I realize that some of you have said that I should buy an add fuse adapter but where to I plug it in and could I still have them come on with the dome light supervision?

I currently have an led strip wrapped around my cup holder unit on the underside and holes in it so light shines through. I just wired that to the light on my shift console and it works great. I love it.
