Not anymore...but then again, if they don't catch you then no sweat
But removal of the amber strip makes the headlights not DoT/SAE approved
EDIT- To answer your question, I think you bake your headlights at a moderate heat (350) and watch it like a hawk....otherwise good bye headlight. Then remove the headlight cover and take the strip out (?). Wipe everything on the inside, etc. Reseal using silicone or using OEM seal and rebake.
