Default Battery relocation

I want to put my battery in my trunk, does anybody have experience making battery boxes? mainly I'm looking for tips on venting it.
My plan is to make the box out of some maybe 8 gauge? aluminum that i have lying around, bend one long piece into the sides, one piece for the bottom and then a hinged and latched lid, rubber weatherstripping around the lip. then rivet it and seal the seams with RTV.
Also I'm looking for a cheap source of #0/1 welding cable in southwest washington.

If you use a sealed battery you won't have to worry about venting.

Sadly, any kind of copper cable isn't cheap these days. You can check at RV shops as they often sell this stuff by the foot which is the best way to buy. Consider commercially available boxes for boats. They aren't sexy, but they serve the purpose.

A welding supply place - not sure if Valley Welding Supply is in that part of WA or not, they were a sister company of ours a few years back and I know they were in the MT area. Next would be a good old school parts store, in my younger days the store I worked at we made battery cables and sold the pices for others to make their own.

Also might poke/search around in the audio section for any write ups/threads in there?
