I've Plasti Dipped my front wheels and it's been great. There's a lot of crappy weather wheels have to deal with here in Portland and they're both still like the day I sprayed them in September. It's easy to use and overspray can just be rubbed off.

Do it if you like it. Depends on how long you want it to last that way. Plastidip is the weakest way to do it, but also the easiest to fix and touch up when chipping occurs!
I would get them powdercoated if you want to do it right.
