Poor mans paint job

Poor mans paint job
So tomorrow I'm going to start my paint job that will consist of $70 worth of 220/400 grit, masking tape, primer, spray paint and clear coat. Despite what anyone may say, I have OCD and I am a perfectionist and I know that it will turn out super clean, if I didn't have faith in myself I wouldn't do this. Here's a test spot from my gas door.
More photos will be added as I progress throughout the day

So I started on my hood and only took a couple photos unfortunately. After the last photo I applied clear coat and then after all was done I buffed it. I'll take more photos of the hood tomorrow to show the work.
Light prep work, keyword, light.
NO TURNING BACK NOW.
Primer.
The paint (black night metallic).
So far I think there's a lesson to be learned here and I might just stop here.
LOL.

Here's another photo I took today after wet sanding and then applying another coat of Rustoleum's "automotive enamel" worst waste of $6 ever.
I'm just going to try and find some automotive grade clear coat by the pint/quart and foam roll it on. This is becoming more of a bad idea by the moment.
