Swapping to an "old style" trunk lid on my new 2012 V6 sedan
I picked up a new 2012 V6 EX sedan a few weeks back. I really like these cars, having leased a 2010 LX sedan previously.
One thing I really don't like about the 2011-2012 sedans is what Honda did to the rear of the car by integrating those reflectors in the trunk lid. I just think they look clunky and tacked on, especially since the rear of the 2008-2010 models was so clean and simple. So I was pleased to find out that I didn't have to replace the entire trunk lid, but instead could remove the new (MY 2011-2012) style garnish panel and replace it with an old (MY 2008-2010) style one (part 17 in the diagram). Even better, they come painted in whatever OEM color is needed.
Except for some of the retaining clips being difficult to access from inside the trunk, it's a pretty simple job (took around an hour start to finish).
Now I'm trying to decide if I should remove the "Accord" and "V6" emblems all together, relocate them to the 2008-2010 positions (where the reflectors were integrated), or leave them in place.

The next job is going to be a bit more involved - replacing the chrome door handles with black ones
