Question 2008 accord satellite radio kit

I bought a 2008 Honda accord EX but replaced dash unit with a Metra 99-7874 so I could put in a satellite radio. After driving for about an hour the unit itself seems to respond to every bump in the road with almost a crackling, sqeaking sound. It don't know if it is the radio heating up and interacting with this Metra kit or if it is the Metra kit which may be some form of plastic. It looks great but the sounds start to bother me after a while and as I said it seems to be after driving for about an hour. Do you think this is the Metra kit fit to dash or the radio? Should I just reinstall original factory-installed unit which housed radio and climate controls??

Thanks.

I'm sorry but I can barely understand what your saying. I have had my kit for two years now, I have never heard and creak or squeaks when driving or even pushing on it. I do hear a lot of complaints but my kit was flawless. Their quality control is not up to par apparently and problems like this occur. I would call them and tell them that your kit is unacceptable and you paid a lot of money for it. If its squeaking then there is something wrong and they should fix it.

Thank you I did buy it from Tweeter which is now out of business. Maybe I will bring to Best Buy service. The problem is that it only starts making these noises after I have been driving for a while.

Thanks again.

You may have not snapped it in it on the bottom, or tightened the screws on the top. Is it perfectly flush with the dash? What your describing is something loose, maybe you don't have the radio secured properly. Does it make noise or move around when you press or pull on the on it? You could make sure the screws holding the kit together are tight as well I've had mine for more than 2 years now and have not had any problem like that. I think this is more of a problem with the install than the kit, if you didn't install it yourself, it was likely installed by someone who has failed at life, and there isn't much they can do right...
