2013 Accord problems with nav. and blutooth

My car is there now and I have brought it up. Not sure I"ll get anywhere, but I will keep you posted here later today after I pick the car up. I have also brought it up with @HondaCustSvc on Twitter and they also want to know what the dealer says. We shall see...

I am taking my car in today to have the software reinstalled but as the service manager told me, thay are caught in the middle. Honda tech. in Calif. is not telling them much at all. Just try the reinstall. They have to be working on the overall problem because there are too many owners with problems. My biggest concern is the Nav. system. I don't think my issues with it are softwear. It's just Honda using an old out dated system and thinking they can get away with it. I depend on my nav. system, use it every day and paid a lot for it.

If one calls Honda, they are going to require the car to be brought to the dealer. My fear is the dealer is going to turn on my system, hear music and say its working fine. If the sound quality of this car is "fine", the engineers and product designers at Honda are all tone deaf. I have already called Honda and now have to take my car to the dealer to get it inspected.
People who have purchased this car and listen to music are going to be greatly dissapointed in teh sound quality. The only way Honda will address this is if enough people complain.
It is not like Honda isnt capable of putting a decent sounding system in a car. My dad's TL with the ELS system sounds phenominal. While naturally I dont expect that same quality, it should be a lot better than what it is now. I could have bought a TL with the tech package for only a few thousand more than the Accord. List price they are almost $10k difference, but the Acuras are heavily discounted because they dont sell well.
The sooner Honda corrects this problem the less it will cost them in the long run.

As I said above, I took my Accord in today to get the computer softwear reinstalled. They gave me a Civic to drive so I thought I would get in the trunk and see what speakers they put in a Civic. I stand corrected. They do make cheeper speakers than what I have in the Accord and they put them in the Civic.
The service dept. also admitted that Honda only up dates there nav. maps every 3 to 4 years and the ones in the Accord are old. I explained that they are not just old but they don't even recognize roads in my area that are 10 or more years old and as a realtor I rely on them every day. If I have to go back to my dash mounted GPS I will expect a partial refund for that option.
I get the car back tomorrow and I will let you know how it goes.

I bet the Civic stereo sounds better than the Accords even with the cheaper speakers.
Thats nonsense about maps. My dad gets offers to buy the latest upgrade via DVD to download to the car once a year from Acura. Honda should have the latest maps in our cars especially since its a new car! I didnt really want Navigation, but I couldnt wait for the car, and no other dealer had the EX-L V6 coupe in Modern Steel Metallic with or without Navigation. Call me crazy but color was non negotiable for me I would have prefered to wait, but I needed the car.

I'm having problems too
Hey guys, driving a 2013 ex-l v6, no navigation.
1. Sometimes both screens are blank. Totally black. One time they popped back on by themselves when we pulled into our driveway, (small bump.)
2. The stereo generally sounds cheap. I'm hoping there is something wrong with it. Is the sub working? This accord cannot have been designed with this crappy of an audio system... could it?
3. Occasionally it has very high pitched screeching sounds from the audio system. More defined on Pandora, but also present on FM, phone calls etc. It's a high pitched static noise, restarting the car makes it go away sometimes. This has been recreated with two seperate phones paired to the unit.
4. With the engine running, in park, there is a very noticeable pressure flutter in the car. Cracking a window, or the roof makes it go away instantly, and I can hear the fan blow a little easier. When I close everything up the problem comes right back. Looking further, popping the trunk makes the problem go away. Close the trunk the pressure fluttering is back. If I turn the air on "recirculating" the problem goes away. Put it back to fresh air and the pressure flutter is back. The incoming air cannot escape it seems?
I've got a phone call to the dealer, but they are an hour drive away, which doesn't exactly make it a convenient stop.

Not getting anywhere fast...
Well, aside from dealing with issues unrelated to audio (having the rear passenger window replaced due to a blemish in the glass, poor quality and poor installation of door edge film and having realized someone at the dealership drove my car 115 miles over the course of two days), the audio issue has been raised and as I imagined, told it is normal.
They said they tested the audio in other Accords on the lot and they all sound the same. haha! Of course they do! They sound like crap! Over the course of those two days my car was at the dealership, I had a loaner 2012 Crosstour (loaded V6, premium sound, etc) and the difference was astounding! I could feel the subwoofer pushing out deep lows, even on normal radio. Now, I realize the Crosstour is designed differently and placement of speakers and the amount of open space might have something to do with it, but not THAT big of a difference. When I got back in my car yesterday and played some of the same songs, I was shocked at how non-existent the subwoofer was. I mean....it is just not there!! Bass and Sub turned all the way up. I get minimal bass response and NO deep lows where I know there are some in certain parts of my music.
Oy! I guess I'm preaching to the choir now, but I'll also be back in touch with Honda Customer Service to let them know my experience.

Well between earflux, technobie and myself it sounds like we all had a good weekend. As I last said I took my car in to have the softwear reinstalled. I got it back and the second call I made on blu-tooth I could hear them but they could not hear me. When I picked the car up I was talking to the tech. about the blu-tooth problem and he told me in almost all cases, problems with blu-tooth can be traced back to the phone. I told him he didn't understand. When three of the most popular cell phones have problems with Honda's blu-tooth the problem is not the phone but Honda's inability to properly program their blu-tooth. He couldn't say much. I can't see that the reinstalation did any good.
I think my next conversation will be with Honda service and if they stone wall me I don't see any other option other than to explain to them that if they don't tell me something soon I intend to make up packages with my Excel spread sheet listing all my problems and send them to Wards Auto World, Automotive news and any other publication I can find explaining how wonderful the 2013 Acord is. Honda may not care but I will feel better.
One other thing, when I was talking to the tech. I mentioned the old maps in the Nav. system and he admitted Honda only updates every 3-5 years. I then asked why when routing does it not recognize streets in my area that have been there for 10+ years. He didn't know.
From what technobie says about the performance of the sound system in the Crosstour the engineers from one car line to another must not even be talking so everyone is reinventing the wheel.
