No, not really. It appears that the radio code is indeed no longer needed, but I have not been able to confirm that to be 100% accurate. Hopefully, no one will ever steal my radio, and it will never be an issue! Sorry I can't help much.

Well, after chasing my dealership (not my sales person himself, he referred me to the finance guy, the one who signs you on all the paperwork) he eventually returned my call (after promising me he'll call me back). He said he was right next to the service manager and he's gonna let the service manager tell me this because "you would not believe me if I tell you this"...
He puts the service manager on the phone and the service manager assured me that no radio code is needed in the 2013 model. If the power is disconnected, all you have to do is press and hold the radio power button for a few seconds (can't remember the exact procedure) and then the radio code is 'verified' with the car's computer (or one of the car's computers). He could answer my question how come in the manual it specifically says that you should have the serial number and code of the radio.

Also, they could not answer the question why I did not get the Number Tag for the key (in case I needed a replacement), but he pulled it off the computer and gave it to me verbally.

All I can say is "Oh, well".

Hope this helps.
