4 channel amp?
i wanna upgrade all the speakers and have them on a 4 channel amp. because of money reasons can i get the front speakers and amp as a first stage and the back ones later? as in can i have a 4 channel amp only using two channels and not over power the speakers? for the other two channels id just turn the gain all the way down.
can this work?

good choice. front component speakers and a 4 channel amp are where i recommend most people start. rears aren't necessary in most cases, and you want your front speakers singing the best.
let us know what speakers and amp you buy, and then we can discuss if bridging is appropriate.
just use CH 1 and 2 inputs and outputs - fed from the front output of the head unit.

ight thanks everybody.
"good choice" (yeyah im learning)
for door speakers (separates)im looking at either RF p152-s or clarion srq1621s
for back speakers i was thinking RF p1694
and for the amp im divided between RF r300-4 and RF p400-4
all RF's good info is in the specifications tap below the pics.
i know rated continuos power(rms) which both amps say 50 X 4 @ 4 ohms but one is 300 watts and the other is 400 watts. which i dont get.
but it also says dynamic power. what is that?

p300-4 it is then. its bigger but its cheaper.
how ever with what hope said im considering just doing a 2 channel for the door speakers and forget the 6 X 9's. it is a coupe so its small and i dont care if it doesnt sound the best in the back (cause i cant drive in the back) and there is the money saved too.
how important is the back speakers?
if i dont get back speakers do i need to compensate any thing?
two subs
two mids and
two highs

you don't need rear speakers - especially with subs. rear speakers are usually pointless and a waste of money - coupe or sedan. you are always better off investing in better front speakers or a better amp.
still get a 4 channel amp. they are more flexible, and you can bridge it to 2 channels for a lot more power to your front speakers.
Personally, i prefer Alpine to Rockford - at the same price. A set of Type-R component speakers with a MRP-F300 amp bridged to them would be very nice. Type-R subs are beasts on a budget. You still need an amp for the subs. You could get a larger 4 channel amp and bridge the rear channels to the sub(s) (provided you have a 4 ohm mono load - i.e. two 4 ohm dvc subs wired series/parallel).
But Rockford is still a good company with a decent product. I think you're on the right track.
I've had systems with two tweeters, two mids, and one sub - and they rocked. no one sat in it and wanted more of anything. essentially, you're trying to reproduce stereo music - same as putting a set of floor standing speakers in front of you.
