Yeah you did a nice job, you can tell it was done professionally. Did you ever think about cutting the liner in the trunk to get the box a bit larger? I may have to do just that to get it to work for me. Not even sure I'd have the time to invest into a project like this though, but the outcome would be well worth it.

That MDF sure does like to suck up that resin, I used some finishing epoxy to seal the MDF box I made for my open fisher. It's pretty thin stuff, even thinned it a bit, strength wasn't a factor was just trying to seal the wood up.

Well I am happy with the sound and quality of these boxes and now have them listed on ebay finally. I also have other items of interest in my other auctions including sub boxes for other hondas. Heres a link to ebay. I also dropped the price as much as possible. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_500wt_1486

That's really not a bad price, I'm sure you'll be able to sell at least a few. I would maybe even make a post on here and the 6th gen for sale forums. If you ever make one for a 7th gen, and has enough depth I'd definitely buy one off you. Don't think I'll ever have the time, or even the skills to pull it off perfectly.

I just need someone with a 7th gen to allow me to make a mold. I usually pay a small fee or offer to change thier oil and wash the car for free while making the mold. I only need the car for a few hours. After that I spend the next 6 days smoothing it out and then make the mold...usually about a week later. I agree the price is right and thanks again for your compliments. I sure hope a couple sell I am running low on resin and gelcoat for the next project. The next project is a contoured general purpose box for 2 ten inch subs thats not like anything else anyone has seen and it will be finished in a gloss black car paint or any color the customer wants. I will be posting a ad on craigslist for local people to mold thier cars in the near future. I need a 7th gen civic and accord and a 2010 insight.

Do you make a sub box for the newer cars? I have a 2009 sedan Accord really want to put a nice sub in. A 10" like you have would be perfect. Also a nice tray or platform for an amplifier would go good with your set up.

I dont have subs available for the newer cars yet. I just started doing this a couple months ago since I now have the time. I have been working with fiberglass for over 10 years though. Speakers for 20 plus years. I currently have boxes for 1996 to 2000 Civics,1998 to 2002 Accords and 2000 to 2006 Insights. You can view them all on ebay right now. I will include a link to one item for the rest just click my other items on the ebay page. Each box has its own build thread on different forums. I plan on adding more vehicle specific boxes as time and money allows. The main thing is that the ones I already have for sale actually sell. If they sell it makes sense to move forward and buy more materials and spend the time making boxes for newer cars. Fiberglass and all the related materials can get expensive fast. I am going to start working on a regular box thats wildly contoured and holds 2 ten inch subs next and will be painted gloss black or any color the customer wants. Here is a picture of a portion of the materials used making these boxes. I will post ebay links in a minute.

Here is a 300.00 roll of mat. I have to buy large rolls like this to get a good price. Gelcoat is about 40.00 a gallon, resin is 110.00 for a 5 gallon bucket. It adds up fast.

Do you get your mat off ebay? I've gotten really good deals on 6oz 2"x50 yard cloth rolls for less than $30 shipped. Haven't really seen great deals on poly resins, but you can get lots of brushes and mixing cups for real cheap on ebay too.

I use to buy online ..ebay etc etc. I now buy from a local supply house because shipping on a bulk roll of mat is about 100.00. Also when I run out of mat, resin etc etc I cant wait several days for more to come in the mail. A full roll of mat like the one pictures is about 150 pounds. A 5 gallon bucket of resin weighs 35 to 40 pounds. The shipping is just killer on these items.
