Amp mounting.

Amp mounting.
Ok on my old cars i have been able to mount my amps on the back of the seats but since my accord has less room on the seats and I have gotten a much bigger amp im thinking about mounting the amp on the side of the trunk area. I would just like some ideas on how to do this.

I have all my amps laying flat. You can mount them vertically but they won't stay as cool. The cooling is passive and designed to be flat, while there are some new digital amps coming out now that claim to produce so little heat they can be stacked. I guess those would be fine vertically, but other digital and switching amps should be mounted horizontally. If looks is more important than longevity of your amps then by all means, give it a go.
As for mounting it on the side, at least in a 7th gen, you would have to a bit of work to mount it up on the side. There isn't really anything there to secure it too.

Amps cool by radiating heat up thru their heat sink. If you mount an amp upside down it radiates its heat out upside down and since heat rises, it rises right back up into the amp and the amp overheats obviously.
Mounting an amp sideways will still let it cool although not as well as being flat but so long as youre not listening to it ***** to the wall all the time I doubt it would be an issue.
