Default Brand new Alpine speakers clicking

So around Christmass I got a set of alpine front speakers SPR-17C. I didnot install them untill around Feburary but my right speaker clicks on what seems to be louder bass notes. I was very carefull when installing them not to puncture them and made sure there was no obstructions. Other than this i have not had much time to tinker with them. any suggestions on what i could do to stop the clicking noise

thanks much

How long have you played these speakers? I had a similar problem with my brand new Zapcos. I took them to the dealer I got them from and they said it could be that the spider or the suspension of the speaker needs to be broken in. They put it on an amp and ran it for a few seconds and said they need me to install them to verify. I go home and start installing them but before I do I played them again and they sounded fine. Play some music on them, better yet, go to www.taralabs.com and on the left side you will see something that says "Download Cascade Noise Burn In CD". Once it's downloaded, burn it onto a CD and play it for a few hours at moderate listening levels. It will break in the speakers. After some good break in period see if it still does what it's doing.

You could be overdriving them. The clicking may be the suspension bottoming out. How much power are you running?
