Doh! Dead radio - need the code!
Removed + batt terminal to clean corrosion and didn't know this permanently kills the radio/cd player. Naturally the previous owner didn't leave a card with the code on it nor did they write it in the owner's manual. Dealer says it'll cost me well over $80 to remove the unit and get the chassis # then retreive the code for me. Custom auto installer verifies the process and can do it for a bit cheaper but still pricey.
Is there any way I can get around this expensive mistake? Actually I argued with the dealer in that their "certified 150 pt. check" is bogus since I think they fell short of providing the vehicle with such an important number, as being properly prepped and ready for resale.

Got it working! Found a series of numbers scribbled on a paper that was somewhat hidden in the glove box. I tried them and after a few attempts, the radio worked. I then recordedthe numbers neatly and are now taped inside the glove box for future reference by me or the next owner. Next owner? Maybe not, if this Honda lasts like the other ones did!

Well, the only reason why its expensive is because its a theft deterent. Im glad you got the radio running again. Putting the number in your glove box is not a good idea, if you radio is getting jacked, that is the first place where a thief would look... but I havent really heard of theives stealing stock radios out of cars under $40k.
