Default green ignition light

Hi, I'm new to the forum and hope I'm posting in the right place for this question. 1990 Honda Accord EXR Auto, in great shape, well-maintained.

Little accident. Someone ran into my door and now it won't close. I'm taking it in for repair of course, but til then I'm concerned the battery will run out with the automatic ignition light on all the time. I took the little door light [at the bottom of the driver's door] out so it isn't draining any power but I don't know how to disable the ignition light [where you put the key in] that comes on automatically when the driver's door is open. So, any advice?

thanks, Stephen

Disconnect your battery until you get it fixed or you'll have a dead battery!

I figured it out. There's a little pressure sensitive button on the frame where the door meets body, so I just jammed something in there to hold it down.
