HP filter on speaker amp affecting sub amp
#21
I really want you to understand how completely unheard of this is. The sub amp is not getting any kind of signal from the speaker amp, so unless it's somehow causing interference it can't be doing what your saying. If it is not causing a problem, and your subs play fine forget about it until you get a real HU. I would bet money once you get rid of theose LOCs or even jsut swap them to different ones, that problem will go away.

is not at ALL related to the remote cable connecting the two amps? i'm telling you when i flipped on the HP filter for the 3/4 speakers and turned the crossover every which way the subs are affected by it.
believe me. its freaking me out

Toofatt is right. That remote lead is simply turning the amps on. Its not powering anything and its not carrying any information.
Have you dont what I suggested and unhooked all your speakers so that only the sub is playing then flicking the HP switch on the front amp? This way you can tell for sure if the sub is actually changing.

Nope, I was hoping that maybe you were using a splitter, and somehow that amp was causing interference. I would bet good money that once you get rid of the stock HU, and are not using LOCs this "problem" will go away. But is this even affecting you negatively? Or are you just trying to figure out what's going on?

i wanna say its causing my rear speakers to clip and the bass isn't as clean as it could be. but i just don't know. wish i had done this all myself.
do you have any recommendations as far as head units go for those little cubby hole kits because i was looking at double din HU's and noticed that a double din kit doesn't exist.
