you have limitless options. this car is really easy to work on and a good platform for a nice sound system.
for some ideas, check out my build log (link in sig), and read the sticky threads in this section. if you want to learn, those are a great place to start.
before we can recommend subs, or any other gear, we need to know the following:
1. what else you currently have that you want to use (head unit, speakers, amps, etc.)?
2. what have you seen/heard before that you have liked (brands, etc.)?
3. what is your budget?
4. who is going to do the installation?
5. what is your expectations for the system (sound quality, SPL, space conservation, etc.)?
6. when are you going to purchase this stuff (now, soon, next year, etc.)?
the rear speakrs are 6x9 and the front door speakers are 6.5". the dash tweeters are easily accessible. a new component set and an amp for them is certainly #1 on the upgrade list.
the rear 6x9 are basically factory woofers, no tweeters. when adding subs, i recommend you just remove them to get more bass in the car. if you want new rear 6x9's then you either don't run subs or you build enclosures around them so the subs don't destroy them, or you build the subs into a wall behind the rear seat opening so the subs don't pressurize the trunk at all.
so, do some reading, and come back at us with some more info!
