I'm pretty baked right now and can't explain things very well, but it's common sense.

skatingclaybird, stop arguing with people who know far more than you. I agree with everything t00fatt and falkore said/say in their posts. If you did research you would read the same things.
You're only 19, grow up a little.
As for whether the L5 is DVC or not, yes Kicker says they are, but obviously if his sub only has one set of inputs then its SVC. There may have been a change in design, etc, etc.
Don't come to a forum asking for advice and then rejecting what is given to you because you don't agree with it. It's that simple. I was going to respond to this thread, but I knew t00fatt would so I left it. He knows far more than any of us on this forum, including myself, about car audio and wiring, I'd trust his opionion, baked or not :P
EDIT: I erased your address, last name, and DL# because I'm not that mean and I don't think anyone deserves to have that much info posted up without their consent, even IF they have the unedited image in their photobucket.

EDIT: Lol not only is he only 19 he looks like a straight up duck, and who puts a pic of their license up on photobucket.
Lol now I see that is your photobucket account finch, you may want to make it private or anyone can see all your pictures lol.

RE: Kicker Sub
Now what would be interesting would be a heated debate on this kind of stuff between t00fat and MacLeod. I have my ringside tickets!!!
But then again, I doubt that they'd be arguing about something this simple. Perhaps the validity of Mac's grandpappy's reverse polarity trick on 1 front speaker, which BTW does help the sound stage dramatically in a car with the front speakers in the bottom front corners of the door and a solid center console.

RE: Kicker Sub
Also I think you are confusing my CVX sub with a CVR. CVRs don't sound good, they are muddy as well. How do I know I had a pair of CVRs. They were $95 each for 15"s, they didn't sound horrible but I overpowered them and they took it for 2 years DD. Here is a picture of a CVX, the L7 and CVX share drivers, meaning they are the same except the cone is circular. And what do you know? The CVX has won SQ contests and made bit of a buzz when it was first released. The L7 hasn't ever....

hahaha you got my license and i wish you knew me (saying i need to grow up hahah) i just dont care what yall say im not trying to argue ...experience over theory man...i have an L7 and I have experienced mine against every other kicker and it just comes downto an L7 sounds better with a 2000 wat amp im pouring out 138 db and its rocking im not meaning to be mean o nothing but from high to low to low to high my L7 has kicke everythings butt man ....it doesnt matter to me ...if you put CVX's in your car thats good to me cause mines gona sound better but i dont appreciate the growing up thing...i have one of a handful of boosted j series accords and thats more than ost anyone here has accomplish ...i wanna seesome one else right now tell me everything you have to do step by sep tp boost thier accord without cheating and reading up real quick and then steps to switch that 6speed tranny over...then ill be impressed but i hope yall dont get mad i have my opinions and you have yous thats what these thrads are about so w/e do what you want...
here is more prof from other threads
go to the kciker website. it will tell you everything about their products.
One thing, if they are "the same exact thing except one is round" then the L7's should be louder. the reason is that square woofers have more cone area than round woofer. that means square woofers can displace more air. that means they will have more spl.
the website will give you all the specs about kicker woofers. the RMS, sensitivity (which isn't very high for any kicker that I know of), and so on.

RE: Kicker Sub
u want people to feel you coming go with L7. But if you plan to buy 4 cvx, then it should hit the same as or harder than two L7
I would choose the L7 out of those choices. The two 10 setup will also sound good, but your box will cost more.
Port the L7 and your good to go.
You don't have room for 2 ported, you hardly have room for one ported, L5's are a joke in comparison, and you MUST port the L7 if you have to run sealed you should run the CV's instead. One L7 ported in the right box will probably be louder than 2 CV's sealed, but that will all be up to you as it will all be in the box.
Thanks for the help in choosing the Kicker L7 10" im very satisfied with it, it gets very loud. Way louder than my two sonys and way better sound quality at high volumes. All I got to say is wow. It sounds like I have two subwoofers back there. For anyone else out there like I was, with two ok subs, dont be affraid to give them up for one L7. Its a monster. Well thanks alot guys!
I heard a single 12" CVX in a sealed box, it was loud and it had SQ. In my opinion I would say 2 15" L5s would be louder than 2 12" L7s or 2 12" cvx. cone surface area.
Theres the proof ...sorry to upset yall ...gl wit yalls decision!!!!

RE: Kicker Sub
Lol now your going to lie about your car? Circular cones are superior. You said it yourself squares are bigger and give you more SPL. If you want more SPL you get a larger sub not a square. You give a lot up when you go to a square cone to only gain a very small amount of surface area. A 12" L7 is not larger than a 15" CVX. If you think a L7 sounds good throughout the range there is doubt you haven't heard any other subs and don't know what your talking about. The fact that an L7 can only reproduce the low ends is not my opinion it's a fact. If you have the intelligence to really look at the difference between a square and a round cone other than size maybe you will understand what I'm saying. Oh and your single L7 puts out 138db? Don't call out numbers when you don't know what your talking about.

iight check this since everybodys kinda goin off on their own little way....toofatt...bro i give it to u...u kno wat ur talkin about and no sir i did not come to the assumption that it was SVC because i clearly stated a question following that askin if the other port is concealed did i not??...i gave u credit for your answer because it sounded the most credible...i just wanted to know why are u sayin its DVC if its SVC and IF IT TRULY IS DVC...IS THE OTHER CONCEALED?...uve very vaguely answered it so all you other guys talkin about the L7 vs the CVX i think yall shud hand it over to toofatt on this one...and yea toofatt jus flat out...is the other port concealed?
