Remote wire question
I have searched this forum with no solution to my problem. I have a 2005 Honda Accord. It has the most basic radio you can get (radio and CD, that's it. I want to hook up my MTX 895 5 channel amp up to it. I will be using a line output converter, but that is not where my questin lies. The question is that I will need to remote turn on the amp and a stinger fan. What is the best way to do this? Will I need to use a relay? Could someone give me a wire diagram on exactly how to do it? I undersatnd that I can tap off of the ACC fuse of my Accord, but I am afraid that It will blow the fuse.

RE: Remote wire question
If you havent already bought your line level converter, look for one with a turn on lead. It uses current sensing from the speaker leads to turn itself on and then relays that to its turn on lead that you can use for your amps.
Another cheap trick would be to run a wire to the fuse box and tap into a fuse that comes on with the ignition. I usually use the radio fuse for this. Youre not needing any power, just a simple 12V signal to tell the amp to turn on.
