Audio/Visual Electronics Wired up? Everyone's got some sort of electrical modification... let's hear about it here.

Simple question.

Your speakers will only push as much power as your HU (or amp) gives to them. Stock means 10-15... So alas... No boom.

That guy is a stupid douche trying to rip you off. Firstly those speakers are not 350w, they may say they are, but that's the max rating which is a sales gimmick not a real measure of what the speak can take. Simply put when you run a speaker off less power then it is designed/intended to run off it will not sound right (muddy and muffled). Meaning if you compare a 60w speaker running off 10ws to a 15w speaker running off 10w, the 15w speaker will sound better, it will be clearer and have a bit more punch. But a 60w speaker running of 60w will blow that smaller speaker away.

If you want to upgrade the speaker and keep the stock HU, you must find speakers with a low RMS rating and a high sensitivity rating (90db+). Still won't sound as good as bigger and better speakers with an amp, but not everyone can squeeze that into their budget.

right...well u guyz made alotta sense there thanks alot....so..i wonder wat my stock HU power is....is there a place where i can find out?....because i wanna push my stock HU to its limits without problems ofcourse....u see i dont wanna get a AM HU because they look stupid in cars...the stock HU for accord fits perfectly on my dashbord...well its unreplacable unless u add the aftermarket HU underneath which i dont want.....so if i find a....speaker that SAYS..100w which is prolly a lil less in reality..will that do?....the main question will it be better then wat i got?...i just needs a tiny more power.... NOTE: my speakers are 30W...and my HU is standerd...and i am sure my HU can push a lil harder...

I don't know what misconceptions you have about amplifiers but your not going to be able to "push" your HU any further than what it's doing now. It will never put out more than 10-15watts, unless you go below the rated impedance which will only hurt the HU, and can hurt your speakers if there is enough clipping. If your looking at speakers and there is only a max rating listed, move on you don't want that speaker. You want a speaker rated for 50w RMS at the most, and a high sensitivty rating. I'm really not going to break it down any further, if you don't get it by now I don't think you will.

How much RMS wattage can you load up on the batt/alt before doing damage? Friend of mine told me I may need a capacitor or two if I'm trying to have dual 800W rms (1600W peak) subs installed.

I drive a 2006 accord I4 Sedan EX

A cap will only help buffer and stabilize the voltage, but will draw more watts from the alt and battery. I don't think you will damage your electrical system, but if your drawing more power than your alt puts out you won't charge your battery. Anything much more than 1500w RMS and you should start thinking about a high output alternator. I would stay away from caps unless you have serious dimming problems after upgrading your battery and big three.
