Sub and Amp Question

subwoofer problems
Tonight i had an amp hooked up and front speakers replaced in my accord, professionally installed. Speakers are awesome, but major problems with the sub!
When the car is not moving the amp and sub work perfectly fine. As soon as the car reaches about 3 mph, or faster, the sub seems to, um, bottom out!? It seems to get stuck producing a base sound but jumps all over the place producing a horrible sound. If you stop the car, back to normal. It will even make the sound when the volume on the factory dash is turned right down to "0". The place that installed it even tried another brand new amp with the same results.
So I left the place with the amp installed but unable to actually use it. The shop things its the head unit. They also think it may be something to do with ''microphones" in the car related to cabin noise?! And the SVC(speed volume control is turned off)
Anyone have any ideas why??
