Default subs for 06 sedan

so im looking at getting a pair of subs for my accord, has anyone install them before? i was looking at 2 alpine type e's, some regular box, and a 400 watt alpine amplifier all brand new for 400, is that a good deal? also im worried about my battery dying and i was wondering if i can install the subs even through my stock headunit, any advice?

Well the only reason your battery would die, is if you are running them w/o the cars engine running. The only thing the subs will make work harder is the alternator. If you are worried about that try getting a 1.0 farad cap which is about $100. It reduces the load, gives you instant bass when you hit a deep notes, and just acts like a big battery. I'm not sure if you can install them w/ the stock headunit. When/if you install the subs yourself, make sure you run the audio cable (red and white RCA plug wires) on the opposite side of your power cables in the car to the amp. That will help prevent distortion. And lastly, when you buy your wiring make sure the fuse (the one which will be in your engine compartment) is equal to or less than the fuse rating on the amplifer. Or if you have extra money or are worried, go to Best Buy and they'll install it for 80-120 bucks. On my system I usually turn the subs down when I first start the car, and I turn them off if im using my headlights, wipers, and a/c at the same time. Idk how many watts your stock alternator puts out though. Good luck!

i think the newer accords have an 80 or 90 amp alt, but you you can put it in the stock unit, but you have to tap the rear channels to a block that converts it to rca's but a 400 watt amp isnt enough to kill your battery
