Whilst getting some new brake pads today, the garage suggested that I get my air con serviced (at a cost of £75!). The car is a 2003 UK spec accord and the air con works fine. Sometimes get a bit of a smell when turning the air con on, but this usually goes away after a couple of minutes. Using the car in the UK, I only use the air con about 50% of the time.

Is the air con service that the dealer offers a rip-off and worth £75?
I am aware that you can also get some diy air con cleaners (comma do one in the UK for about £11). Are these any good? Will the dealer basically do the same thing?

if your a/c works fine then dont mess with it. 75 pounds is a lot of money
