Default How to revive '93 rubber side door moldings?

I just got a '93 accord wagon and I am having it repainted. I took off the big rubber molding that runs along the middle of each door. These guys are pretty old and have seen a lot of sunshine here in SoCal. How can I revive them so they look half way decent? I have read about letting them soak in either WD40 or ArmorAll for a few days to give them some flexibility back. Anyone have any suggestion on this?

Also, these pieces have a double sided tape to keeps them from rattling once they are installed on the doors. This tape got trashed in the removal process so I need to find a replacement for it. Does anyone know what I can use for that?

Thank you very much.

Bo

3M makes a strong double sided foam tape, but you can find a double side foam tape at just about any hardware store.

Anything will be very very temporary. Replacement would be the best bet providing you can find replacements. If not look into Aerospace 303.

you can use amorall or tire shine. i use mothers back-to-black you can find it at auto zone. sometimes you have to apply it more than once to see good results. it usually lasts 1 to 2 weeks. oh and the more you use it the longer it lasts

I am with RtexasF, Aerospace303. Great stuff for all your vinyl/rubber (and perhaps Leather) applications.
