Default 1992 Accord engine swap questions

Hi, I am new here.
I have a 1992 Accord LX with 480,000 miles on it. The head gasket blew, and my husband doesn't want to fix it with the bottom end having that many miles on it. We have thought of finding a japanese drop in engine for it, or another engine.
My question is... I found a wrecked 93 Accord that has a great running engine, but was in a crash (cheap! woo hoo) His is an automatic and mine is a stick. My husband thought he remembered a friend that did something like this in a dune buggy and thought he remembered that friend having issues because the motor he got, was from an automatic. Is there anything different with the actual engines. I plan to use my transmission, but will be putting in a new clutch while we are in there.

My goal is not really to make it faster at all, but keep it reliable for my son who has a girlfriend who lives 3 hours away. I suspect he will drive the wheels off of it, and will be low on cash.

Any other tips or tricks for this engine swap? My husband is pretty mechanically inclined and does all of our engine work on all of our cars. That being said, no one is perfect and any help is appreciated! Every big project seems to have tips that help it go smoother.

Thanks

Dawn

The engine is the same between the auto and manual cars. There are minor differences but the block and head are the same.

Example, the auto will have an extra cable coming off the TB that goes to the auto trans......where the manual does not.
