1998 Accord 4 cyl VTEC solenoid gasket
#11
Ok, put the gasket in today. Took the three bolts out, carefully, replaced the old gasket and put the vtec solenoid back together and stopped the leak without removing or replacing the $250 solenoid, with a $2.75 gasket. Now that was the only leak I had hoped cause the rest of the engine is fairly clean. But I still have a small oil spot show up on a piece of cardboard I laid under the engine after driving. May be the oil pan by the area. Look at that tomorrow.
Thanks again datman.

I know this thread is "back from the dead", but better to use a thread that is already in place than to create a new one.
1998 Accord with F23A1 engine. I had leaks in both places, namely where the VTEC valve body adjoins the cylinder head, and at the triangular top piece. The oil pressure switch mounting area was okay, but I replaced it anyway, as long as I had it removed.
What truly helped, besides moving the big fuel rail harness a little (it has some freedom of movement, once unclipped), was removing that EGR valve. Aftwards, using the offset box end wrench and a small 3/8" drive breaker bar, I was able to make short work of this.
We'll see if that stops the leaks on that side of the engine.
