97 accord swap...HELP PLZ

ok I see it is a picture of the ignition unit on the column.
So Jim is right (like always) you would need the column from a 98+ Accord then do this 3 wire bypass.
Seems like a lot of work, kinda explains why the H23 is cheaper than the H22

Even with an immobilizer, it just means you have to use the keys that match the donor car. So if you get all the keys and lock-cylinders from the donor car, swap them into your car, it should work.
On 2nd thought, I suspect 1997 didn't have an immobilizer, so there won't be an RFID antenna buried in your steering column. You'll need that too.

Looks like you should do some research on what crispin suggested.

I think basically everyone with an H23a converts to OBD1 and runs a chipped ECU. I mean if you wanted I'm sure an H22 ECU would run the engine, but it would be far from ideal and I personally would not do it.
Have you considered turboing your stock engine or a replacement F22? F22s with a turbo will make a lot more power than an H series engine.

yea i have thought about it but my thing is im not tryin to be the fastest on the block and put that much money in. cause i would deff have to rebuild or replace mine first cause its not in good shape at all then all the money in turbo/cooling and all the parts i'd have to upgrade. its not worth it to me,i just want a little something to give all the b/d series a good run. and a h series is the cheapest way to do that and at the same time my car would last alot longer cause its basically a new engine, i mean you can find a h23 either rebuilt or with less than 30k on it for 600-800 anywhere.

Yeah just don't buy into the 30,000 miles thing too much. The importers have absolutely no idea how many miles are on the engine, nor what condition it is in. Notice how an engine out of a 91 CRX says it has 35,000 miles on it while a K series from a 2005 RSX also says 35,000 miles? They just say that for every engine.
I have bought from importers before, and I don't think I would again.

H23a
ok i've been torn for months now on what to go with h22a or h23a v-tec bluetop. if anyone could give ANY suggestions at all it would be greatly appreciated.
main issues im having maken a decision
-easiest to do at home
-most power for my money
-and which would bolt up to existing f22b auto trans(if either)
-also which is better as a auto
