you do know that you can stick a key or pen in the hole besides the shifter and turn your car to drive right? the car is not useless...
Yes, I do realize that but to have to do that each time is a hassle. Not only that, my brake lights don't work, which isn't safe. My horn doesnt work as well, so if my alarm to go off, it wouldn't make a sound. And the vehicle is useless when it's stuck in one gear. I do a lot of highway driving and I have to pretty much keept at 60 mph or less.

Apparently I had a short. The other day I was looking at the tail light bulb and I guess something over there had an exposed wire and was shorting out. It caused a couple other fuses to blow I believe. No charge but I'm buying my mechanic and his 2 other guys pizza and drinks. So damn glad it wasn't anything major. Amazing what fuses can do the vehicle.

No, the fuses protected the vehicle. If that circuit didn't have a fuse, your little short could have started a fire. That probably would have been worse...

Oh yeah...trust me, I know about fuses. and I'm glad it was not as serious, well as bad as I thought it was. I have a car audio setup and those fuses protect my equipment. If it wasn't for those fuses, I would have probably blown my amps. Been there, don't wanna deal with it again. Nothing worse in car audio when you smell a burned coil or blow amp.
