Catalytic Converter replacement/sourcing problem
Hi All,
New here and am in a bind.
I have a 2010 Honda Accord LX-P 2.4 4cylinder. I picked up this car in 2013 with 40k miles and have about 165k now and it’s been a beast with minimal maintenance.
I have run into a problem where I need a catalytic convert since mine has gone out and I cannot pass smog. When looking for so I ordered a part from Advanced Auto Parts to wait 2 weeks for delivery to be told it was not in stock and I am now beyond my moving permit date. I was towed once prior while trying to find a part, totally sucked.
My mechanic cannot locate the part either and the goal with this car is to make it last another 1-2 years. I may opt even just to get it to pass so it can pass smog then trade it into the dealer for a newer accord and take on some small monthly payments.
Can anyone provide an alternative for a catalytic converter? Magnaflo is out and not able to help, this OEM for my car not looking good too.
A lower-cost alternative would be ideal as I can trade this in for something else.
Any feedback is appreciated.
THANK YOU
