F22B1 is definitely a 5th gen engine (94-97). I'm at the office right now, but I have a Haynes manual for 94-97 models at home. Let me do some research when I get back home.....

If it's related to an EGR port issue then you may have a "stumble" at around 2000-2500 rpms the car will feel a little jerky or underpowered etc. Do you feel that at all?

If you feel that (it will be in all gears, more noticeable under slow acceleration/light throttle) then it may very well be an EGR port issue, meaning that they need cleaned. Check this link

In regards to the TDC sensor, I hate to tell you this, but the Haynes is not very helpful in diagnosis. The location on the 1996 and later models is on the front of the oil pump housing. It is on the front of the engine, under the timing belt cover. Haynes says that the test procedure they give (I believe this is the test you want to try) does not cover the 1996 and later models. It says "on the 1996 and late 4 cyl and V6 models, it is necessary to use a scan tool to diagnose these types of sensors." [sm=wtf.gif]

It's #17. Ouch! It's expensive for the genuine Honda part. I would want to really be sure this was my problem before buying one. If I was going to replace it without knowing for sure that was my problem, I would go junk yard diving and see if I could find a used one on the cheap.
Good luck man

Thanks. It illustrates that just "F22B1" isn't enough information. They change stuff like this from year-to-year whenever they feel like it.

Sounds like some of these controls & sensors are changed before the big overall 6th-generation change.

If I were you, I'd check the phone book or the online yellow pages for salvage yards. Call around. Some may have already disassembled the vehicle, some may not. I kow in the US, some salvage yards let you go out to the vehicle and repove the part you need yourself. This might be a more helpful experience (if you were able to find the part you were looking for.) On the other hand, when you go to those types of salvage yards, you never know what someone else could have taken off of that vehicle, so you might go looking under the hood of a car that the TDC sensor had already been removed from.
