easiest way to get low end torque

RE: easiest way to get low end torque
I seem to recall an episode of Top Gear where they tried to break the "indoor speed record." Actually none existed at the time. They started in an enormous building (I can't remember how big it really was - I'm sure there is a video on youtube) with their "reasonably priced car" (a lot like a stock chevy cobalt I think). The reasonably priced car made it to around 70 mph. Of course, they had to stop before they slammed into the wall, so acceleration as well as braking was crucial. After the reasonably priced car they went to an F1 car. the F1 barely broke 80mph. Their explanation? It was too light to get traction in the building. Just something to ponder.....

also take out the spare tire and jack ..... and anything else in the car that you don't need ..... stereo, upolstery (sp?), rear and passanger seats, etc.
If you really want better acceleration, try CF panels and plexiglass windows.
