Default f22 swap to h23, 94 ex

i was wondering if anyone has a write up on swapping an h22/h23 into a 94 accord. the h23 is obd2 so i know theres wiring to be done but i'm not sure how too, thats the part i'm stuck on. Income tax is coming and i figure why not? lol
So any write ups or info on the wiring conversion would be appreciated

Wiring conversion would be possible, and would probably include getting an OBD1 to OBD2x (x is either A or B depending on your application - research the details on your own) conversion harness either on eBay, or a place like Xenocron or Phearable. You would also have to rewire sensors - which you can also research through forums and online databases.

Your easiest route would be to swap the engine in using the engine harness that is meant to work with it, as well as the ECU it is designed for. This way you will have no sensors to rewire and no conversion harnesses to buy and install.

Hope this helps. Any further write-ups you can search for online - they have been done and written to detail.

Guy - that's the thing I'm telling you. If you use the harness, as well as the ECU that is MADE for the engine you are installing oringally - you will NOT need to repin anything! There's different routes to go about it, but if you go this route it would be easiest. So let me explain again - if you are swapping an H23A into your car, use a harness that's originally made for the H23A and the ECU that's made for the H23A. At that point the only difference would be if you are having a manual or automatic transmission. If you are using an H23A manual transmission you will need the H23A manual ECU and H23A manual harness. If you are using an H23A auto transmission, you should be using an H23A auto harness and H23A auto ECU. Does that clear it up even more?

The guys that are telling you to repin things in the writeups are probably not using matching harnesses or ECUs. If everything matches up as listed above it should all work no problem and no repinning.

yeah that cleared it up a whole lot lol. i figured it would be ahrder usuing the harness for the engine since the care is already wired with the original harness. thanks though much appreciated.

The car is wired with its own seperate harness that's the thing. The engine harness only pertains to the engine and its parts, and goes to the ECU inside the car. That's it! Obviously both interior and engine harnesses connect to the battery too but I 'm sure you knew that!

It's kind of like two independent systems.

see thats why i thought it'd be a pain to use the spearate harness, i though it joined with everything else, not just its own stand alone system, makes much more sense to do that lol, thanks

If the Op is swapping a JDM h23a vtec engine you can use a h22a prelude wiring harness. H23a and H22's are the same engine except the h23a has a f22/h23 crank for the 2.3 displacement.

Also you CAN'T use a h23a ecu unless you are using a auto trans. The h23a didn't come with a 5speed trans only a auto. As the h23a came from the JDM siR wagon that only had the h22 auto trans option. The only right ECU to use is a chipped p28 ecu with a h22 bas map and get a tune right away. A p13 ecu will not run the h23a engine correctly. A tune will be necessary

i'm planning on running a pretty stock set up, i was hoping to go with a stock ecu as well, would getting the h22 just be a better route than? I only want the h23a because i'ev heard it has more torque if i'm not mistaken.
