So it really wouldnt hurt anything if i didnt hook up the vtec? I'm not really looking for some off the wall hp or anything cause reliability is a concern. I know that fst and reliable isnt cheap. Really just trying to get everything planned out before i start anything. Would the hasport mount have to be specific or just for a h22?

It wouldnt hurt anything by not hooking vtec.........but you wouldnt make much more hp than stock and it would be pretty pointless to do the swap.

Hasport only makes 2 mounts for the accord one is for the h22/h23 and one is for the k series.

yeah i thought if i got vtec might as well get it hooked up. Thanks a lot. I plan on doing the swap hopefully when it warms up. Would it be easier to do the cam swap before or after dropping in the motor and trans?

One isnt really any more difficult than the other. I would just do it before then only have to get it dyno tuned once(highly recommend dyno tune).

Of course have to get it tuned. I'd have to drive to Georgia to do it which is a couple hr trip. Do the h22 have the obd2 or obd1? got emission testing where i live and i dunno if it would matter doing from the 2 or the 1.

H22a and H22a1 are only available in OBD1(for the most part). H22a4 you can get in OBD2. And if you have inspection there is no way you will ever pass with an OBD1 motor in an OBD2 car. However you cannot tune with OBD2. If you want to pass inspection legitimately get an H22a4, run a dyno tuned OBD1 ecu all year round, then swap in a OBD2 ecu for inspection.

Otherwise just make friends with someone who does inspections o he will pass you and run a obd1 motor/obd1 all the time(this is my preferred option).

They dont check under the hood or anything like that. Just either plug it up or stick that pipe in the exhaust.

but most inspections they have to hook it up to the obd2 port, which if they did this it would not give them any info because obd1 ecu cant give the emissions info and doesnt have most of the emissions stuff on the obd1 motors.

Hmmm that seems to be a problem. guess i'll have to figure a way around that. Maybe just get it tagged in a county over that doesnt do emissions testing

Then again would it be okay to use the ob2 engine and tune it with my apexi afc neo?
