heres a good one
Ok so I am new to this forum...and I have a big problem already. I was driving in my car and I heard a bang. I barely made it home and popped the hood. I found that the spark plug for cylinder 4 had blown out of the cylinder head and the spark plug wire boot was split in half. Now ive seen and worked on alot of cars and ive never heard of this happening. But if anyone has any clue as to why this happened id like to know. I have to replace the cylinder head so i think im going to just swap it for a h22 or f20. BTW its a 95 with F22b. was running NGK laser platinum plugs with msd wires, coil, cap, and ignition controller.

@Jimblake-when the spark plug was shot out of the engine (Thank god the hood was closed) it took the threads with it. I tried to put a new one in there and theres literally nothing left for it to grab onto.
can you even get mothballs in chicago in april?

There's probably some product like HeliCoil or TimeSert thread inserts that are made for spark plugs. But I've never had to search for that. I've used HeliCoils on other stuff so I can say they work in general.

i was thinking about that but its over 6" down a tube so theres no real good way to set them without taking the head off. and if im gunna do that i may as well just replace it. So im off to the junkyard to find an engine.
